I've kept my suet feeders full of peanut butter suet and the seed holders are all full.
I have also put out a couple of plastic bins on their sides facing the house and put old blankets in them. Wish I had straw - that would have been much better than blankets, but so far, no stray cats or dogs or possum or whatever have used them.
You could also use one of those bins with the lid and cut a hole in it to make a makeshift kennel.
