Funny how as we get older, and our children reach adulthood how in reality we need them more than ever and even though they are able to fend for themselves and even provide comfort for us at times, yet there still need the parent on occasion, even if its watching grandchildren, sometimes financial, or just someone to smile and say how proud they are.

Stand up and be proud, not only of your little girl going to school to better herself, but be proud that you are there and helping make it happen it and that you are in a position to help her, as there are many Fathers never there, some that are,  are not able to be as big a financial help, or just like you, unable to be the adult and work together with the Mother of your child to ensure both parents are in the picture and are actually adults, even though because of no fault of her own, her Mother and Father couldn't keep it working between them.

No court should ever need to force parents to pay for their children to grow up with what they need, each parent should be ready to be the Adult and provide more than they need. They should be able to do that without bitching, moaning, or crying. That's what being an adult is, now why don't you finally become an adult for your daughter

Problem in the story is not that he complains having to care about her daughter. Problem is that he pays for all the costs coming with bringing up a kid and let her go to school and NE XT to that pays child support to his ex who has ZERO costs as she does not pay for school, clothes,.... And it is that last part he does not want to do anymore. He is willing to take care of his kid without any problem, but he is not willibg to pay to his ex as she is not carrying any of the costs coming with raising an almost adult child

Original Message I need to vent.

My daughter turns 19 in a couple of weeks. She is in college. I'm paying 100% of her college because my state requires that the non-custodial parent pay.

But why is the mother the "custodial" parent for an adult? Furthermore, why am I paying my ex Child Support when I'm paying for her college, room, board, food, clothes, healthcare costs, and splitting time 50/50 with the ex when my daughter is not in college.

It's criminal and legalized theft.
