Original Message I received a new credit account from Citibank that I DID NOT request.

It says that if I do not want the credit I can call this number to close it. Of course I called the number right away, it was automated only, no option for a "real" person!

I closed the account, but isn't it illegal for them to issue a credit line without a request or application?
