[quote:Anonymous Coward 80569381:MV80ODE4OTYzXzg4NzM5NzM3XzhGNjY0NTgz] OP said "no religious stories" but I'm unclear if there is overlap between religious/paranormal/visions/dreams. I was a kid in high school and this was back in the 1970's. Woke up in the middle of the night and was "aware" there was a presence in my room, something dark and evil... but it was an engaging sort of evil. I refused to acknowledge it's presence in any way, but I was terrified shitless. It unfolded visions in my mind, the gist of it being, the it was there as the representative of a worldwide network of like minds who were engaged in the endeavor of directing the course of history. They caused stock market rallies, recessions, wars, peace - all for power and profit. I was a naive kid at the time and had never heard anything like this. They were looking for recruits. Not to help them "rule" anything in a decision making capacity... just minions. Sleepers who they would help climb the ladder at important junctions in their lives/careers, who - when called upon - would perform some small task. Maybe open a switch that should have stayed closed... maybe walk away for a bathroom break at an important moment. Small stuff - at least, that's the way it was made to sound. I was horrified at the thought, it made me want to puke. Still, I laid there in the dark not moving a muscle, hardly daring to breathe. It really made a pitch about how easy my climb to success would be if I would just give a little cooperation, they'd see that I was in the right place at the right time to advance their aims in some small way. For the longest time, nothing happened. Eventually, it just left... vanished. That experience to me was as real as any mundane conversation I have ever had, except the lack of actual verbal words being exchanged. To this day I wonder how my life would have been different if I'd accepted the offer... and whether I could have lived with myself afterwards. Never been that scared before or since. These days I look at people in places of power, or people who seemingly had their way paved with lucky breaks... and wonder if they got the same pitch but came away with a handshake deal for that same offer. Makes me wonder. [/quote]

Please refrain from religious experience, primarily because they all tend to a reminder of what has been reminded us for hundreds of years. Unless your religious experience was extremely unique.
Have you ever had to experience that you know was real and really did happen, yet you have no proof of and everyone wouldn't believe you if you told them and perhaps even starting to doubt yourself despite the fact that you know it's also real? Does it bother you going on in life knowing that you'll never be able to explain/prove it to anyone?
Share your experience.
