Original Message One Texas school district found a clever loophole around Gov. Greg Abbott’s ban on a mask mandate.

The Paris Independent School District, about 100 miles northeast of Dallas, voted Tuesday to make COVID-19 masks part of the student dress code, where the governor’s executive order has no authority.

..“The Board believes the dress code can be used to mitigate communicable health issues, and therefore has amended the PISD dress code to protect our students and employees.”
