Original Message I wish people would already stop with the "oh my god look at that grid of energy weapon impacts!" crap.

Those are not "calculated quake points" the shape of which indicates foul play.

The data forms a perfect grid of because that's how the sensors are laid on the ground. Physical sensors. Boxes of instrumentation on the ground.

You do know that they lay sensors on the ground all around volcanos to observe quakes and rising of the ground?

They are placed in a grid, because when you have an ordered grid of data points, it's easier to interpolate data between the points.

Here's what those sensor packages look like.
