yesssssss Op this grid stupidity has to stop its hurting the real science and research on glp that i love so much...
I started on the solar watch thread years ago and haven't stopped learning since. 
The sun
The atmosphere 
The magnetosphere 
Plate tectonics 
Solar radiation
Cosmic rays.
Learnt about all of it here with you guys...
Recently i learnt that the earths core fires protons and neutrons from the North and south poles via the magnetic field.. 
These particles follow the earths field lines out to space and bunch up at the farthest point in a loop(field line)as new particles join the bunch others are forced out and flip to another line only to fall back to earth following the line and arriving bk at the poles creating the earths own private aurora (pale green)
