Original Message Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler is seeking an extra $5million this fall to refund the police by hiring more officers, expanding training and buying more equipment
The city reported 73 murders in 2021 alone - more than its previous record of 66, which was set in 1987 - which is an 83 percent from the start of 2020
