Upon discovery of the termite damage, the client must be informed and the contract amended to mutual satisfaction. You bill by the job, or hours. Days has not thing to do with it. It if you just want a number 1200 sounds fair, unless you are in CA or NY, then 1800 [/quote] HAHAHAHA. bathroom remodel, 6 days for one skilled and one unskilled for $1200? Are you nuts? 48 hrs for two people? That comes to $12.50 an hour! Mcdonalds is paying $14.00 to start EVERYWHERE. not sure where you live, but that might be normal for the ozarks, but in any city at all or even rural, everyone is billing at LEAST 35/hr and MUCH more in big cities. I did a total gut and rebuild for a shower stall. After digging into the demo phase it was very apparent that termites had utterly chewed through all the existing framing studs exterior sheathing and subfloor.
The total bill for just the materials was $1900. I worked six days on this project with my wife beside me doing the scutt work.
How should I bill for the labor portion of this job? Total hours with a per hour rate or just match the materials cost?
Thanks
