The deaths of six former Phillies players from brain cancer since 2003 has sparked concerns over the club's now-demolished park, Veterans Stadium
Fox News medical contributor Dr. Marc Siegel suggested that radar guns and the artificial turf at the Vet could be to blame and called for an investigation
Radiofrequency radiation is not believed to cause cancer, according to the American Cancer Society, and radar guns were never exclusive to the Vet
The Vet's turf was also used by the NFL's Eagles, who haven't seen a cancer spike
Former Phillies reliever David West died from brain cancer last week at 57
Other ex-Phillies who died from brain cancer: Ken Brett (2003), Tug McGraw (2004), Johnny Oates (2004), John Vukovich (2007), and Darren Daulton (2017)
Specifically, they died from an aggressive, frequently diagnosed form of brain and spinal cord cancer, glioblastoma, that has claimed other players' lives too
Other players who died from glioblastoma, but didn't play for the Phillies, include Hall of Famer Gary Carter, at 57, and outfielder Bobby Murcer at 62 [link to www.dailymail.co.uk (secure)]
