Original Message This got me thinking about the world before and after the internet. Clearly taking an absurd comedic approach, but the themes are very true and real. Beyond some of the more obvious cultural destruction the internet caused like the death of shopping malls, video stores, etc it also fundamentally altered the development of youth, social interaction, and normal in-person relationships that help form empathy and other forms of healthy human psychology.

Mass shootings skyrocketed, childhood depression at an all-time high, misinformation, fake news, and impotency are just some of the many negative consequences of big tech putting profit over ethics and human values.

I've heard the "this is just the way things are now" argument and I don't find it very compelling or intellectual. At what point do we hold big tech responsible for the disaster they have caused? They literally mutated the human species. Why have we allowed this to happen?
