[quote:Anonymous Coward 472844:MV81NTAxNDBfODc5NzM2Nl80MUFFRjRBNQ==] [quote:ana 451904] ace tone really works~~!!! i was able to jump from 30-32 mpg ... to 40 mpg!! three tips: 1) use 100% pure acetone 2) less is more! 2 oz per 10 gallons! calculate howmuch you need to put on each tank. mesure it!! get a mesuring device... 3) calculate how much mpg you are geting now... and start mesuring the increase in mpg! tip: fill up your tank put the prescribed amount of acetone (1 oz/5 gal) and set the meter in you dash board... good luck! and all you critics out there... try it and then make uo you own opinions!!
Exactly. All this rubbish about "acetone eating rubber components up" is just that, rubbish. Using those tiny quantities of acetone isn't going to effect rubber components that are awash in gasoline 24/7. Screw the critics, there's enough people who've used it to success for so long they really don't have a leg to stand on. If it "ruined engines" people would be all over the net talking about it. They aren't. So ASE mechanic guy is going to have to wait to work on my motor.
I just drive to NY from Florida (moving).
I have a Dodge Caravan and drove it to Florida totally empty - I even took out the back seats. I drove it back to NY totally packed (at least 1200+ lbs).
In other vehicles I get better mileage going to Fl than coming back to NY.
On the way down empty I averaged 22-23mpg. On the way back to NY fully loaded - packed - I averaged a little better than 23mpg.
The only difference is that on the way here from Florida I added 3 oz of acetone (nail polish remover) every time I filled the tank. Without it I would have been lucky to get 20mpg.
I read that it usually takes a couple of tanks to get the full effect and I started with the fill-up the morning that I left.
I was happy.
By the way gas prices suck!! - and the interstate was PACKED!
