Original Message my question concerns two main points

why do people lie compulsively? is there a similarity in background/experience that makes people this way?

secondly, how can they get better, that is, stop lying all the time? is it even possible?

i was in a relationship for about nine months with a woman i cared for very much, but she wouldn't stop lying to me, and it eventually caused me to leave

i do not intend to get back together with her romantically, but i still love her, and i think i might be the only person she has ever told the extent of her problem to, would like to help her if i can

fire away GLP - any insights?
