[quote:EndGovSlavery:MV83NTI4NDFfMjk3NzMyMTJfQjUyNDJBMTU=] i see no issue with child support, it's how it's implemented and enforced i see a problem with. morally, economically, constitutionally. if it was about the children then it would not be implemented in the way it is. it about government control, destruction of the family, and money. pure and simple!!!! Child support orders should not have full faith and credit and should be subject to judicial revue from other jurisdictions. 1) Locking up non custodial parents behind on their support should not get jail time. 2) there should be no interest and penalties and fee's on arrears 3) letting arrears accrue along with fees, penalties, interest for institutionalized or incarcerated non custodial parent should not be allowed. 4) your new spouses income should not be allowed to be used in calculated support amount. it's not fair to the spouse. the custodial parents spouses income doesn't count toward figuring support so why the other way? 5) their should be a allowance of for the necessities required to live. rent, utilities, food, etc. 6) essentials of living should not be allowed to be revoked, business, drivers license etc. 7) judges need to have leeway to make adjustments to an order request. 8) the whole support system needs to be nationalized and have uniform regulations, third party oversight and regular auditing of both the program and the custodial parent. 9) streamline the process of having an existing order changed in response to changing financial circumstances. 10) have a bar of pro bono lawyers similar to legal services to represent someone who's income is not high enough to afford a lawyer. this is handy when it involves cases in two states as legal services can not help with out of state problems. 11) there should be sanctions and penalties for mothers and fathers who choose to produce different children from different partners. i think having kids with 2 partners (although morally i don't agree) is the norm these days, but when it starts amounting to 3, 4, 5 partners then there needs to be a sanction for that. make them ineligible for welfare or child support. this will prevent custodial predators from using the system as a cottage industry. 12) craft legislation to remove the bias from the family courts and legal system. 13) if DNA shows a child does not belong to the non custodial parent even if it's months or years later than the support ends there. period. 14) add a statute of limitations to establish paternity. 15) now that DNA is a quick, cheap, painless and Easy Process use DNA to establish paternity right at birth before the fathers name is put on birth certificate i'm sure others could expand upon this. but i say the current child support laws as written and enforced violate the constitution. ***BUT*** good luck finding a judge who will commit political suicide by finding child support laws as written as being unconstitutional!!!!! Good luck finding politicians willing to revisit and overhaul the child support system. ****I'M Sure that many will be pissed off to no end about these statements but i think many will agree**** [/quote]

If this is what you think of child support, please elaborate, because I fail to see how taking care of your responsibilities equals slavery. If that were the case, then the custodial parent would be a slave as well, for having to pick up whatever child related bills you don't pay for, as well as having to care for them more.
