[quote:Anonymous Coward 744733:MV84NTc1MDNfMTMyOTU0NzlfRjM2Q0QyRDU=] [quote:Anonymous Coward 714162] My family and I made the move to Southern Brasil almost a full year ago. We sold our homes and everything we possible could and bought a very nice 100 acre farm complete with 4 bedroom home, wells, tank, huge garden, working eucaliptus farm, orchard with over 10 types of fruit trees, etc. We LOVE IT!!!! The town is nice size and close to an airport. I've been trying to convice the rest of the inlaws to make the move, but they're pretty deep in Americana. I've always been a Universalist from childhood; not brought up that way, its just who I am. I LOVE the US though. I'm watching a tragedy unfold from Brasil. You have NO idea what you are all losing. NO IDEA. It's so sad.
Hahaha. We share the same idea. I am glad you like it and that it´s working out for you. I already have my safe-place outside Mexicali, México which is in a small town about 15 miles from the US-Mexico border, but I am now thinking of friends and family at large. I know many will not move, but many will get desperate when TSHTF. The closest town is 20 minutes away and it´s barely 30k people. I intend to grow lots of tropical fruit trees for our own consumption, and eucalyptus trees of about 6 kinds, since they grow fast and are great for timber, some of them and each kind has so many uses. There is one you crash a few leaves and you have a great mosquito repellent. Another one is great against Cancer... I have to start from scratch, and make it to accomodate people as they settle in the land. The land is great to grow cattle.
I am thinking of getting up to 100 acres in Southern Mexico to help some American friends scape their democratic, economic and political woes.
How much land would I lend them if per family so they are able to grow a garden, and what should I ask in return, if any?
What is fair?
