2Peter 3:8 states.."Do not let this one fact escape your notice,beloved, that with the Lord one day is a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day"
we must understand that prophetically, sometimes a day represents a thousand years. this is why the millenium reign of Christ is sometimes referred to as ´the day of the Lord,´
Give or take a hundred years, we can determine the time of Adam until today.. generally it is about 6,000 years since Adam..we are coming to the end of the 6´th day prophetically..
Day 1) God seperated the light from the darkness. During the first 1,000 year period of history, we have the fall of man and the conflict between light and darkness.
Day 2) the waters were seperated. during the second 1,000 year period, the Flood occurred and the waters that had been over the earth in a midst came down in the first rain.
Day 3) God gathered the waters into seas. Waters often represent peoples( for instance, "the waters which you saw where the harlot sits are peoples[Rev. 17:15]. In the third 1,000 year period of history man built the tower of babel and people were formed into nations.
Day 4) God seperated the day and night and created the sun, moon, and stars. During the fourth 1,000 year period the Lord Jesus was born(the sun), satan was fully revealed as the one who rules the night (the moon) and the apostles led the church (the star). In Scripture the apostles are often referred to as stars. This was the true seperation of light and darkness on earth.
Day 5) God created the "great sea monsters." During the fifth 1,000 year period the powerful and monstous religions of the world were formed that were to rule the ´seas´ or peoples, such as Islam, Hinduism, and some of the powerful and dominating institutions of Christianity that would devour so many.
Day 6) the creatures multiplied. During the sixth 1,000 year period, we see every religion and philosophy in the world multiplying into many offshoots. at the end of this day we also have man created in the Lord´s image. When we come to the end of this period, the world is going to see a church that is re-created in His image, without spot or wrinkle, walking in the ´measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ" (Eph. 4:13)
Day 7) God rested. the next 1,000 year period of man´s history will see the return of the Lord and the setting up of His kingdom. Then the ´Lord of the Sabbath´ will reign over earth as promised.
