Quoting: New EveI just don't have the answer. >>I do. Remove the amendment that was never ratified, close down the IRS, implement the Fair Tax. Apply the surplus revenue to decreasing the debt while cutting back on ALL government spending. Senators, Congressmen, Judges, and Presidents should work for FREE. I don't do book reports, I don't sort the wheat from the chaff but I will discuss the topic of your ignorance if I'm asked. -MC Frontalot “But make no mistake, BP is operating at our direction...” -Barry Obammy |

New Eve (OP) User ID: 906765 United States 03/04/2010 12:28 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I am listening to the Republicans, and they do have some very good points. I just thought it funny how the Congressmen's comment made it sound like he was unable to read. Anonymous Coward User ID: 715509 United States 03/04/2010 12:29 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The issue is a 15 page amendment to a $15 Billion bill, the amendment never having seen any committee and only posted on the Internet for less than 2.5 hours. This is 'transparency'? Get over the fracking partisanship and just become and American. Have you read that Bill and this amendment to it? I bet not. |

Quoting: New EveRep Pete Sessions (R, Dallas) just complained that the Democrats did not come and "explain the bill" to the Republicans in committee. Can they not read? Link: Now on CSPAN It has nothing to do with jobs. It's a straw man for spending to achieve politcal gain on the taxpayers credit card. |
Bluebird User ID: 730536 United States 03/04/2010 12:32 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I am listening to the Republicans, and they do have some very good points. Quoting: New EveI just thought it funny how the Congressmen's comment made it sound like he was unable to read. Evelyn Woods could not read all these bills in the alloted time! There is a reason for that. I guess some are OK with congress voting on bills they have not been given the opportunity to read. But most of these bills were written before Obama ever took office and NOT by the House of Representatives as the law requires but by his "community action" and radical cronise such as the Apollo Group. I hope they don't pass ANY more of ANYTHING as they have already destroyed the economy for many years to come. Cloward-Piven techniques for "overwhelming the system" to creeate chaos. Anonymous Coward User ID: 715509 United States 03/04/2010 12:36 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I just hope they can continue to stall this crap! Last thing we need is more debt and spending. Spain lost two jobs for every "green" job created. While I am sure Obama would be just tickled pink with such results, those of us paying the bill are not. Quoting: BluebirdHold Out, Repubs! Don't give in to the destruction of the Republic by these lunatics running Washington known as the Obama Administration. Totally with you on this BlueBird. One of the Republicans made a big point about how Congress might have actually gotten it, that The People wanted Congress to read the bills before they started discussing them and voting on them. I urge everyone to drop the party lines and just become Americans. Both Parties of the two are mostly agains the People. Yet there are members in both parties that really are listening to the People and trying to work for them. It has nothing to do with party lines. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 715509 United States 03/04/2010 12:38 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This government is so in debt and so broke that Congress just needs to adjourn for the rest of the year, as there is absolutely no money to pay for anything this Congress might pass this year. Time for Congress to just adjourn for the rest of the year and regroup after the election in Nov. |
New Eve (OP) User ID: 906765 United States 03/04/2010 12:39 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Oh, Please. The bill was posted at 9:30 on the Internet. The time allotted now in the House if for Discussion. No one is assuming the bill will be passed today, just DISCUSSED today. They are just asking people (Congressmen, especially) to get busy doing their jobs, reading the bill and talking about it. Instead they'd rather complain about how the other side introduced it, etc. Picking and finding fault. A big waste of the people's time. Instead of just reading and talking about the bill, they act like elementary school kids who would rather not read and just talk and criticize others in order to avoid doing any work. They talk more about each others' tactics than they do about the contents of the bill. Just sayin.'
