Debate on Jobs Bill in U.S. House--Is It About Jobs or Not?
Oh, God, partisan politics just never end.

Rep Pete Sessions (R, Dallas) just complained that the Democrats did not come and "explain the bill" to the Republicans in committee.

Can they not read?

This is GLP you cannot talk smack about the republicans!

They care about the country unlike the abortion loving liberals.

NO MORE SPENDING, if people cannot get jobs its their own fault,i mean just look at the millions of jobs being created everyday, these people are just lazy, its everyman for himself!

Republicans Stalling Jobs Bill in U.S. House of Representatives

Thank goodness someone can count, and do simple math, and see that extended dole for a few, and boondoggle job creation for 2-300000 per actual job created is on the backs of the grandchildren will lead to default before they are of the age that slaves are alowed to "vote"

I just thought it funny how the Congressmen's comment made it sound like he was unable to read.

The issue is a 15 page amendment to a $15 Billion bill, the amendment never having seen any committee and only posted on the Internet for less than 2.5 hours. This is 'transparency'?

Get over the fracking partisanship and just become and American.

Have you read that Bill and this amendment to it? I bet not.

I just hope they can continue to stall this crap! Last thing we need is more debt and spending. Spain lost two jobs for every "green" job created. While I am sure Obama would be just tickled pink with such results, those of us paying the bill are not.

Hold Out, Repubs! Don't give in to the destruction of the Republic by these lunatics running Washington known as the Obama Administration.

Evelyn Woods could not read all these bills in the alloted time!

There is a reason for that.

I guess some are OK with congress voting on bills they have not been given the opportunity to read.

But most of these bills were written before Obama ever took office and NOT by the House of Representatives as the law requires but by his "community action" and radical cronise such as the Apollo Group.

I hope they don't pass ANY more of ANYTHING as they have already destroyed the economy for many years to come.

Totally with you on this BlueBird.

One of the Republicans made a big point about how Congress might have actually gotten it, that The People wanted Congress to read the bills before they started discussing them and voting on them.

I urge everyone to drop the party lines and just become Americans. Both Parties of the two are mostly agains the People. Yet there are members in both parties that really are listening to the People and trying to work for them. It has nothing to do with party lines.

This government is so in debt and so broke that Congress just needs to adjourn for the rest of the year, as there is absolutely no money to pay for anything this Congress might pass this year.

Time for Congress to just adjourn for the rest of the year and regroup after the election in Nov.

Oh, Please.

The bill was posted at 9:30 on the Internet.

The time allotted now in the House if for Discussion.

No one is assuming the bill will be passed today, just DISCUSSED today.

They are just asking people (Congressmen, especially) to get busy doing their jobs, reading the bill and talking about it. Instead they'd rather complain about how the other side introduced it, etc. Picking and finding fault.

A big waste of the people's time.

Instead of just reading and talking about the bill, they act like elementary school kids who would rather not read and just talk and criticize others in order to avoid doing any work.

They talk more about each others' tactics than they do about the contents of the bill.

Just sayin.'

I for one and getting so pissed that every little thing this Congress is dealing with is taken as some sort of National Emergency that absolutely must be dealt with this exact minute as if some 10 mile diameter asteroid were screaming in for impact to Earth from Saturn at 1,000,000 miles per hour. Everything is being done ina fucking PANIC mode.

Congress is supposed to be a deliberative body, not a fracking Knee Jerk reactionary chicken with its head cut off.

It is better that Congress pass no bills than it pass bad bills.

House Rules which the House has passed, dictate that any given piece of legislation and amendments be online for the public to read for a couple of days, not a couple of hours.

All some is saying is "we have this rule which is law, it is time we upheld the rule and followed the law we set down."

The People want Congress accountable to the People to obey its own rules and laws.

I fully agree, spend the damned time READING OUT LOUD the fracking Bill and its amendments... and cut out all this bullshit complaining and just do that, READ the bill out loud.

It really needs to be done with every single bill.

More and more of The People are now watching both the House and Senate floor debates and votes on C-Span than every before, and we the People simply want these frackers to read the fracking bills out loud.

Those that talk about closing down the IRS don't seem to realize the Federal Govenment DOES NEED some agency to collect the Federal Taxes, just what do they desire the IRS to be replaced with? As to the FRS, I think it should just be Nationalized (IMHO).

That's fine. No one is saying not to follow the rules. But why do they have to debate this point, instead of the contents of the bill? Especially as debate has just started. No one is expecting the bill to be passed today. Why are the Republicans implying that they are?

Because they are mean-spirited and partisan. They are just sorry they didn't come up with the bill themselves.
