Didn't I read that NASA added color because we wouldn't be able to see under it's real spectrum, I'm referring to - P2010 A2 LINEAR

Wouldn't it be interesting if they did release the true version, once downloaded try numerous adjustments with in a good quality photo software program.

Very good point.
I am wondering too in wich way we still can trust the released digital images. We know now that the moon and Mars images are coloured in ... such a fraud and shame !!!!

If they use colouring to make something visable (wich is understandable) they also should release the origional image(s) !

An other thing with digital imaging is : is the "hot-pixel" also always a hot-pixel ? or can it be mistaken for it while in fact it is an unknown object ?
compression artifacts may also be unknown things (in magnetic-electrical-material-frequency ways) ... and that the equipment is trying to translate it with the data that is known, but maybe not sufficient to register the unknown object.
Maybe it is translated as a bunch of squares, while in real out there in space that is not even close to the real thing.
Maybe several images (ways of registering the spectrum : micro-wave, ultra violet, near infra red, etc..) should be layered upon each other to make it visable in its true nature ... maybe in a single image it is not comming close like it is out there in space.
How true are the images we see?
How much is lost?
How much is adjusted and photoshoped?
