NYC fire museum charges parents $650 for a Junior Fireman birthday party package for a 6 year old.

Birthday Parties include the following:

Birthday child and 15 guests(children).
Free play, story-telling, show and tell, art project, scavenger hunt and visit with a firefighter.
Fire themed 12" birthday cake, decorated with a fire truck or Dalmatian, juice boxes, and all fire decorated party goods. Cake flavors are chocolate and yellow. Frostings offered are chocolate butter cream, vanilla butter cream, chocolate ganache. Fruit fillings are also available.
The One Alarm loot bag that includes a fire chief's hat, bravery medal and some fire themed items such as two sticker books, plush Dalmatian , crayons, firefighter figure, an official FDNY coloring book and treats.
Two educators for the duration of the party.
Red, blue, yellow and white helium filled balloons.
Cost: $650

Our basic party package covers the birthday child and 15 guests. If you would like to have more than this number, there will be an additional charge of $15 per child.(25 maximum)

You may order outside food for your party but you must provide your own napkins, plates, cups and forks. The party coordinator can provide suggestions as well as telephone numbers for area restaurants that will deliver to the Museum.

If you are not a member of the museum our $25 family membership fee is included in the cost. You have up to three weeks before the party date to switch dates; afterwards there is a $50 rescheduling fee.

Any GLPers spending that kind of dough on their 6 year old's birthday party?

my kids get a cake baked at home, balloons and friends over to spend the night! We usually order a pizza and may take them to the movie. We don't spend that kind of money.

less than 20 bucks per kid for the deluxe package.

obviously it's not meant for 'normal' children.

It's only for Goldman Sachs Employees' children I guess.
