its just the people a few rungs below us in the pond scum that manipulate the value of our paper and as a result our fuel prices

Quite a while back I had a V8 Pontiac Le Mans, the same one you can see in the Rockford Files. I just filled the tank up when it was getting low, it did about 12mpg if I'm not mistaken. Drove once from L.A. to NY and back again the next year in an AMC Hornet, that was a good mid sized 6 cylinder and gas prices where not a major consideration.

I guess those days have gone. (sigh)

I was at a meeting of haulage contractors a couple of weeks ago. We were told to expect 11p a litre increase within weeks and for a continued climb in prices -- with them never going back down again.

Peak oil = peak everything you get delivered in a truck.

I'm told petrol (gasoline!) is in excess of 1.41 euro a litre in Greece at the moment. Anyone confirm this?

And the buget is going to place more tax on it too, at a time when tankers full of fuel are stacked up offshore.

Yah! getting hard to justify Co2 Cap and Trade, so, higher taxes on fuels, they will wring it out of us one way or another, soon your wage slip will be just a receipt for taxes.

Oil here in the states is 30% cheaper than in 2008.

Gas is 300% higher in price then it was in 2003.

last month Eddie george the bank man had to write an apology to parliament for inflation above 3% with fuel rising in cost can only help push that figure higher as about now most firms cant absorb that sort of rise unless they diddle you on the size of product for the same money

Petrol was $4.50/gal in 2008.

Today it was $2.79/gal

This is exactly what 'climategate' was about. Anything remotely 'green' now is a 'lie'.

its just in the 90s under a tory gov we were sold 2% on top of fuel no mater what yr on yr till the economy look like it was in trouble and that was under the green initiative

tree huggers have there place building with a frenzy uncontrolled would trash what little country side we have

we as a people all talk about doing stuff but its just the organizing and executing it and if done on a alphabet thing the oil mob know you be back the next day

There is no oil shortage or gasoline. Both are being stored OFF SHORE in oil tankers for there is no place to put it. Refinereies are only operating at 78% for there is no where for the gas to go. Pipelines are full. Blame it all on GOLDMAN-SACHS and Speculation just running the price up when THERE IS NO DEMAND.

Uhh and how will your food get to you?? hmm? Oil companies are not our enemies.
