Quoting: Anonymous Coward 520635what a great idea.. /sarcasm dude, that's not an 'european model' that's a model where bankers and such rob people out of their monies & future so only thing there is left is poor slaves of corporations. look at your own country, same thing is going on there as in Greece! I'm late to this thread, but the bold part is exactly right. This same civil unrest 'lite' is the next step to unfold here in the U.S.A. Greece is simply a little ahead of our own schedule here. Socialism by any other name, Mr. Obama (and everyone back to FDR), has the same end result. . |

They don't want us to have a primer for what will happen here if the SHTF. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 918310Right. Be sure to take notes, as we'll be seeing the same things here soon when our economy tanks. Unions strike: no production (what little is left) Teamsters strikes: ports shut down, no imports or exports Electrical worker strike: loss of electricity, black-outs, store power shuts down Doctor strikes (from new health care law): a real health care crisis Gas Station strikes: don't see it happening Trucker strikes: grocery stores & gas stations out of inventory, highways jammed with parked rigs Gov't workers strikes: Yeah right, they are the only growth industry right now. Local bureaucrats might get fired, but they can then just get well-paying federal jobs. Teachers' strikes: due to lay-offs. How do 120:1 student:teacher ratios sound? It doesn't take many teachers to make our children watch pro-FDR documentaries. Airline pilot/flight attendant strikes: to shut down national public transportation Air traffic controllers strike: Nope. They remember what happened last time Emergency Services workers' strike: No, they never strike. They're team players Military going on strike: No, see above Media strikes: No way! They're jobs spinning this crisis are much too important to be left to chance. They will be placated. I guess all those laid-off Acorn census workers will get new jobs: as agent-provocateurs in the city streets, pretending to be "home-grown" anarchists. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 918077yea lets model the USA after Europe.. what a great idea.. /sarcasm You are completely right. They will not be able to pay for medicare/social security/medicaid and they will not be able to take it all away. They can't even let unemployment run out because people were freaking out. Imagine if the government cut back on welfare or food stamps, those riots would make these Greek riots look like kids at Disneyland. Right. They need revenue badly. But they are limited on how much more they can openly tax in the USA, because of the threat of widespread backlash and their need to buy votes for re-election. But they also can't cut spending (i.e.- entitlements) as they'd have riots in the streets if the checks stopped flowing (the spice must flow...) So, they'll sneak in stealth taxes, such as socialized health care and quantitative easing/QE (i.e.- turn on the printing presses.) Programmed inflation is a very successful stealth tax as few really grasp where it comes from (Federal Reserve, Inc.) and it can be blamed on many disparate things to dupe the masses. |

Quoting: ^TrInItY^yea lets model the USA after Europe.. what a great idea.. /sarcasm Good for the people of Greece; Americans take note. Why can't Americans stand united and strike against the gov't? When I say strike, I mean not work, gas station owners close your doors; doctors refuse to treat patients; dentists refuse to treat patient; Wal-Mart employees strike. This can be a next step to "warn" our gov't that the people do not want this liberal bureaucracy. |
