Question: How can socialized medicine in times of financial hardship save money???
Can someone explain this to me?
Dear sir, poor sir, brave sir: You are an experiment by the Creator of the Universe. You are the only creature in the entire Universe who has free will. You are the only one who has to figure out what to do next--and why. Everybody else is a robot, a machine.

It's all about power.

It sure as hell isn't about 'saving money'.

Isn't it rather obvious Jadr?

If you don't have to pay for insurance, you are saving money?

Re: Question: How can socialized medicine in times of financial hardship save money???
In theory, universal health coverage could save money. A ridiculous amount of money is wasted in our current system variously on insurance cherry-picking, unnecessary tests, frivilous lawsuits, overpriced drugs, overpaid specialist doctors, massive fraud, and the complete absence of any cost/benefit analysis by insured consumers.

So yes, a radical overhaul of the health care system with a component of socialized medicine would do wonders.

This bill, though, achieves almost none of those things and will make several problems worse. It is a disaster.

Re: Question: How can socialized medicine in times of financial hardship save money???
Err, because sick people are less productive workers, and because emergency care is vastly more expensive (to the total system, including police and fire emergency services), than preventative care (which few without insurance are able and willing to partake of).

This is basic economic theory understood even by insurance companies.

Of course, what we ended up with is whatever shredded rag of compromised bullshit that was left after the "I've got mine, so why should I care what happens to other people" party ran out of ways to interfere.

It is unlikely the present form of the bill is going to help anyone.

Re: Question: How can socialized medicine in times of financial hardship save money???
The whole thing is a disaster in waiting

1. It's going to bankrupt the States....and I don't mean figuratively

To make "Obamacare" look like a deficit reducer they pushed a large chunk of the cost off onto the States.

California is supposed to somehow come up with an addition 3 billion a year EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE CURRENTLY ON THE VERGE OF FILLING FOR BANKRUPTCY.

300 billion of the "deficit reduction" over the next 10 years is done by simply forcing the States to fork over 300 billion

Then they hit up Americans for 250 billion in new taxes (on their health insurance )

and the rest is just "cooking the books".

2.Its going to make insurance more expensive.

The claim that its going to control costs is done by pretending that:

A.)The insurance industry WONT pass the tax along onto consumers

B.)That when people have no choice but to pay whatever the insurance industry demands under penalty of law that insures wont simply jack the rates up.

C.)That requiring insurers to cover pre-existing conditions wont drive premiums up.

3. That the Federal Government can afford to pay for this, even though Baby-boomers are now hitting retirement age and will soon draw trillions in social security benefits.

It cannot it wasn't suppose to this bill was written long before Obama was elected.

It was a money grab to fund a bankrupt Medicare and social security.

It will bankrupt and produce alot more layoffs for this debacle. And these douchbags go on tv like they are some sort of hero.fucking unreal.

And don't forget the mandatory vaccinations, rfid chips and card.Payment even if your unemployed ,so illegals can get healthcare while they euthanasia your granny.

Isn't all that wonderful?

I am sure there are alot more hidden things in it.

The only winners in all this is the federal gov.and big pharma who wrote this bill.

Re: Question: How can socialized medicine in times of financial hardship save money???
We need to move immediately to make all illegals legal. That will create a great new tax base and save the govt from bankruptcy. It will also ensure that the brave dems putting this progressive change forward will be re-elected.

I know it all seems scary now but hey nobody likes change but they get used to it.
