She is on all kinds of aid including food stamps, and has a man with a decent job that lives with her that pays the rent. This 23 year old girl is actually living at a higher level than I am, and I am the one taking all the risk. It appears to me that my American dream of working hard and being paid for your efforts is a sham. How can this go on, and not bankrupt this whole country?

As long as you fail to realize she works just as hard as you (though not doing exactky what you do), you will continue to wonder why life seems unfair. It is fair. As the above person stated it's all about choices.

I guess I have always believed that people that have health problems, single mothers, etc. should be helped with my tax dollars. I have compassion for people that have gotten a bad break in life, but this help has become a way of life, just like a job I guess, only it is yours and my money paying for it.
