They had a gathering where I live a couple years ago. I didn´t go, but they seemed to attract a lot of the local young hippie wannabes.

The core group from what I read is Earth-based and back-to-nature.

I wouldn´t let my daughter go if she wanted to, but that´s just me.

On a lighter note, I heard about this small town in the Bible Belt that was having a festival of some sort. They were offered a bunch of rainbow banners for free to display during the festival. On festival day, rainbow flags were everwhere. A tourist passing through commented to one of the natives that they were surprised to see the flags, since small towns weren´t usually so accepting of homosexuals.

In the UK we have rainbow camps and gatherings. If my daughter wanted to go Id say fine as long as you tag along with me HAHA

My daughter is not going (funny thing is, it didn´t have a date, but she wouldn´t be going anyway) she rarely does anything without our permission first, she´s a good kid. What strikes me odd though is, if this is a hippie gathering, why pick her? She doesn´t really look any different than the average teenage girls you see everywhere... she doesn´t really give the ´hippie´ appearance that some do. Hmmmm guess I just don´t get it.

Rainbow Girls are affiliated with Masonic Lodges. The are like the girls´ junior auxilliary so to speak of the Masons. Membership is usually made up of the Lodge members´ daughters and their friends. DeMolay is the equivalent organization for young men and Eastern Star for wives and mothers.

This doesn´t quite sound like a Rainbow Girls´ meeting your daughter got invited to. ;)

I´ve been to a Rainbow Gathering, there´s nothing evil about them. Just a bunch of people getting together to celebrate life. Bunch of hippies playing drums and dancing.

Good time, actually. I recommend it.

The one I heard about sounded more family oriented. Fishing, camping, old metal and wood working tech, classes on weather and season changes herbal medicine and yes there is more than one herb for your ills ,lol. Sounded ok for a family type thing. Could have been dancing around a camp fire naked but I didn´t see that listed.
