Quoting: LA-LA-LAWell white sugar defiantly is not good as it eats the enamel off your teeth. But I found not all sugars are the same just as all oils are not the same. Some ueed in a car and some used to cook with Your brain runs on high concentrations of sugar I have tea in a tall mason jar every morning [5 kinds of tea] and two table spoons of local honey, and I get so much energy from it. The honey don't rot the teeth that I have noticed because germs can't live in honey I highly doubt fruit feeds cancer cells. Cancer is in all of us and a weaken, depressed immune system will lose the battle to keep it in check. |

Quoting: Free StoreThey have to be total vegetarian. There are vegetarian studies if you really want to look into it all. The meats put off toxins that then cause several types of cancers, colon pancrease prosterate. And balding I heard the other day. The extra animal fats affect the prosterate which then developes the extra fats on the scalp closing off the folicals. Good try tho. If you want to gorge yourself on meats then help yourself, but it is not healthy. |

Many fruits and veg are high in antioxidants, which help the body deal with free radicals, thus helping our own natural defences prevent cancer from forming. Blueberries, for example, and mushrooms like shiitakes and enoki, have amazing amounts of good things, sprouted greens, etc,.....I think the recommendation to eat "x servings" a day of fruit/veg must naturally coincide with eating less protein (which most westerners eat way too much of anyhow). It isn't simply eating fruit and veg, it is the quality of those items as well. What you grow yourself is obviously best, after that trusted sources of organics, and so on down the line. The best thing anyone can do for themselves it to educate themselves about what they consume as food...where is it grown? How? By whom? What is used on it? And what vitamins, minerals, etc, do you want and from what sources. It does take some research but there are lots of helpful websites. And if you eat meat, make sure you eat good quality meats. Keep in mind, much of the produce we consume is loaded with pesticides or preservatives, hybridized or GM, irradiated....it's just endless how food is tampered with. And if it makes you sick just thinking about it, it sure as hell will make you sick from eating eat - not to mention the strain on the liver from trying to break down the myriad additives in a "normal" western diet. Time to go back to eating properly like in grandma's time, good and wholesome foods, not loaded with chemicals. Best way to do that is to start growing your own.... |

Well if meat was that bad the Indians would all be dead For the most part modernization brought the multitudes of veggies together from different parts of the world that we enjoy now before that we ate insects game fowl and fish and berries when in season The Inuit can't grow veggies in the arctic but had elders . Quoting: crazycanuck 807970It has taken thousands of years for plants to evolve a resilients to disease naturally. Man can't improve on what nature has done for itself. Now I read that the GMO foods that had gene splicing are failing due to bugs evolving. Given time the plant in nature would have evolved another defense to insects and as well as to drought heat and cold. We expect an answer to our needs in too short of time. Good post |

It CAN'T possibly affect us. 90% of the fruits and veggies in the stores these days aren't even ripe enough to eat. I gave up on ever seeing a ripe peach again...planted a peach tree. |

Which fruits and vegetables and what type? Where they organic? What was the soil quality?
