'South African fossils could be new hominid species' over 2,000,000 years old [link to news.bbc.co.uk] Quoting: aloy3313The remarkable remains of two ancient human-like creatures (hominids) have been found in South Africa. The fossils of a female adult and a juvenile male - perhaps mother and son - are just under two million years old. They were uncovered in cave deposits at Malapa not far from Johannesburg. Researchers tell the journal Science that the creatures fill an important gap between older hominids and the group of more modern species known as Homo, which includes our own kind. The team has assigned the name Australopithecus sediba to their finds. "It's at the point where we transition from an ape that walks on two legs to, effectively, us," lead scientist Professor Lee Berger of the University of the Witwatersrand told BBC News. "I think that probably everyone is aware that this period of time - that period between 1.8 and just over two million years [ago] - is one of the most poorly represented in the entire early hominid fossil record. You're talking about a very small, very fragmentary record," he explained. You don't go after Muslim's, Jew's, Hindu's, or Sikh? Clearly you have anger issues with one group, which you clearly don't understand or know. For the millionth time, Christians that don't fall into the "pop culture" bullshit attack on evolution as a challenge to Creation have NO ISSUE with evolution, and there are plenty. Thirdly, pretty much ever "missing link" find has been a hoax. This is exactly a "missing link" find, so to speak, but I have my doubts based on the past. Finally, the question I always want to asked when bodies like this are discovered, is do they eliminate genetic abnormality, malnutrition, and disease? For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God's abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ. |

I don't go after muslims, jews, etc cos they don't spout bollocks on GLP or if they do I haven't seen it. You don't have a problem with evolution but you are Christian ? Fair enough, don't see many on GLP. I am a Christian, not a "good" one, but I believe and love Jesus Christ and accept Him as my salvation. I try to obey and love my Father in Heaven. Yes, I believe in evolution, it in NO WAY conflicts with the Bible, God or His Son. could you answer a question then ? evolution says we evolved from apes, the bible says god made us from dust or something. So which one is correct ? Evolution DOES NOT say humans came from apes. That is inaccurate, at best. You are talking about some weird from of speciation or Lamarckism. It says we share similar traits. Almost like a similar template. We share 98% of the same DNA. We look, and act very similar. It makes sense. So you believe god put us here but us sharing 98% DNA with apes is just coincedence ? 'Try laughing at that when you are on fire.'
