Did I play "Dirty Darts"?

I met my buddy from work at the bar.
After a bit we played some darts.
Several games of Cricket.

He beat me for a couple, so I changed strategy.
I closed out a number and then just pumped it for points.
He started getting pissed and calling it dirty darts.

I was like, "What the Hell?"
Is it not in the rules that you could score points?
It ain't no damn "Dirty Darts".
