Quoting: OTOCI am going for 5 maybe 6 days, only on hour 20 and would love to have some insight on what happens. I did 38 hours of working with one break for food, went and played my best golf after that. Worked for 6 months straight 7 day a week with only 3 hours of sleep a day. Did some of my best work to date. It was probably longer than 6 months, it's all a blur. |

As the poster above mentioned, it takes way longer than the awake period to recover. And you may get sick as the other person warned. However, You may also strengthen your mind and have little illness. Be careful, you may get clumsy. It is funny, tho, the way everything sounds muffled, I think the ears sleep and we stay awake, and you will likely hear voices first, like someone has a radio talk show on in another room. IMO, a few days is enough ! love, peace. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 12163409 United States 03/08/2012 03:14 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I could never go past 4 days!! Way back when I was in high school I used to stay up long periods of time. Mostly playing video games, or working on artsy things. I swear the less sleep I got the better my art work would get. I even took home a few awards for my art work during my odd sleeping. You kinda become a mess at the end of day 2... Day 3 I was hearing voices sometimes. Just whispers, like hearing your name but no one is there. I would think my friends or parents had said something but had not. By the end of day 4 I was an emotional wreck. I was using the 'potty' and dropped the toilet paper... well it rolled out of my reach... I started BAWLING. Just couldn't help it, after that I went to sleep haha. Weird to think back on it lol I would start seeing shadows around the end of day 2. Just quick things out of the corner of my eye. Scary thing is I would see people in the road when I was driving sometimes, or off to the side of the road. I would blink and they would be gone. I kinda knew they were in my head though, I think because I just got so fuzzy it's like being in a haze. After this period of time I would knock out for usually a full 24 hours... No joke lol Dreams were more vivid, very hard to wake from them. If anyone tried to wake me during my hibernation I just would not get up. Sometimes I would have full convos with people while half asleep and not remember it AT ALL! Once I even answered my phone. The mind it a weird thing :/ Be careful though, doing that at a younger age really effed up any hope of a normal sleep schedule. Now I get about 4-5 hours a night or else I feel bogged down all day. Also can't sleep at night sometimes... Careful OP. Try not to be out driving your experiment!! Good luck, I'm off to bed HAHA |

ELric User ID: 11597835 United States 03/08/2012 04:19 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Well, as of 4am, I have been up for over 100 hours straight. I am on adderall, cannabis, xanax, and roxicet. They keep me going. But, you want a break down of day by day, then I'll give you one. (I am experienced. I underwent a spiritual awakening experience where I didn't sleep for 9 days or eat/drank for 7. But here we go. Day 1. Everything is normal. Start to feel tired as the day comes to a close. Day 2. This is past the 24 hour mark. Your perception of reality obscures and changes. It undergoes a metamorphasis because of the excess excreted DMT. You perceive the world differently. I know I have officially entered day 2 when I can walk down the street, stare at the stone brick paving, then essentially "zoom in" and see each single stone granual which makes up the block. Day 3. 48 hour mark. You become short tempered. This is the make or break day. If you make it past day 3 your in for the ride of a life time. On the 3rd day your chemical balance shifts in your brain from the sleep deprivation and you go on a emotional rollercoaster from hell. Its worth noting that many people who are awake longer then 3 days and who are brought into the ER are usually classified as schizophrenics and bipolars because of the outrageous mood swings. Day 4. 72 hours. Your body feels heavy. Your mind feels slowed don. You become extremely lethargic. I will sit and stare into nothingness for hours on end. Day 5. 96 hours. Your body feels weightless. Your mind is no longer feeling, you are simply doing. You cannot sleep now because you are overtired. And day 5 is the best part because it leads into day 6. Day 6. This is where the real freaky interesting events occur. This is the "bridging the void of seen and unseen; real and imaginary" stage. The easiest way to strive on past day 6 is to accept that what is unseen is present, and what is seen is imaginary. By this point I have no choice. I am on such an elevated level of consciousness by day 6 that I do not talk to the person but to the demons that control them. Their vices and problems. I can distinguish from "person" and pieces of shit trying to wrap up on my chakras. (AKA demons) For example, I'll be having a conversation with someone and they will look away, then look back and now their eyes are slits like the reptilians. Or they become all black like the greys. Or they just go completely empty. This is my tell tale sign I've been up for more then 5 days, watch the eye shift. Day 7. Trying to watch TV is the most horrifying anxiety causing anything that could happen when you are this elevated. This is also the point where your God complex signs through. You feel waves of achievement encompass you for you have defied logic. Day 8. Mass paranoia. Now that you have defied logic and are "God." THEY ARE OUT TO GET YOU! The hallucinations become terrifying at this point, leaving you feeling hopeless and vulnerable even with those you love the most. Day 9. I woke up shackled to a bed in the psychiatric unit. I tried to fly by jumping off a cliff. Wish I could tell ya more. But I'm sure this will help. One Love Only in darkness do you find light, Only in bright do you find night. To become awakened and enlightened, one must first experience awakening and enlightening events. Once you have experienced an event, and consciously accepted it, you are now awake. Follow the path of your own choosing and upon completion, you are enlightened. Each step in that path that you chose; each experience you go through; are all like stepping stones leading to the Enlightened "Tree" Your path following those small stepping stones, result in a large outcome; for the wanderer on a spiritual journey, the result is Enlightenment. |
