NJ Bigfoot Newspaper Article in Today's Paper
By PHILLIP MOLNAR

[email protected]

NEWTON -- Hidden deep in the cold, dark basement of a Newton building is a shocking and scary discovery.

In an unassuming steel file cabinet titled "B" is a manila folder with information pointing to what locals in Sussex County call "Big Red Eye."

The folder, named "Bigfoot," kept in the New Jersey Herald's basement files, tells the story of a long-held legend.

The New Jersey Herald wrote 16 articles about the mythological Bigfoot creature from 1975 to 1978.

I grew up in Sussex County. I actually heard one of these creatures screaming in woods about 15 years ago.

I know a Newton cop who was parked off road on traffic patrol and he said something grabbed the back of his cruiser and started wobbling it side to side. Scared him shitless. MANY Sussex folks have seen this thing. Sussex Co. is weird to begin with, lets face it.

Re: NJ Bigfoot Newspaper Article in Today's Paper
Awesome thread. I hope it gets pinned. bump

One thing I thought was hilarious was this...

Last year he was going for a run at night and spotted a dark creature on the road.

"I thought, 'That's Big Red Eye,'" he said. As Charles Checkur prepared to strike the beast, he stopped just in time to realize it was a horse.

So, setting aside the part where he really had no idea what he was about to hit for a second... he actually thought it would be a good idea to punch a Bigfoot?!? LMAO

30 gunshots couldn't bring it down, but one solid sucker punch is gonna do the trick? That guy needs to watch more of those "Messin' with Sasquatch" Beef Jerky commercials. lolsign

The place where the Sites fired their guns is now owned by former CNN commentator Lou Dobbs. "Oh great," Dobbs said upon learning the interesting history of his farm at the Lafayette House before a speech on a recent Friday night.

He had some shots fired into his house recently too. Must have been bigfoot hunters

Werewolf researcher Linda Godfrey has found a common link with werewolf sightings and the name "Lafayette"...for some reason. Werewolves frequently show up where there has been Bigfoot sightings. hmmmmm...

Camping several years ago at the AEP primitive camping areas in SE Ohio. Nobody else around but us. In the middle of the night we heard screams that would curdle your blood. Instictively KNEW it was a BigFoot. Packed that campsite up in 10 minutes flat and got the hell out of there. It had taken us over an hour to set it up.

Never in my life heard screams like that - not human, but not any animal either. Just echoed through the hills. hiding

I'm starting to think Bigfoot isn't a normal physical animal. With all the hunters and woodsmen over the years we still don't even have a dead specimen, just footprints and blurry footage. It's either highly intelligent, close to that of humans, or has some supreme camouflage to blend in with it's surroundings and evade when needed.

I am right down rt15 across the county line. I noticed a BF sighting right down the road from me listed on BFRO. My house is surrounded by lots and lots of woods. When I go out late at night, it can be kinda creepy. But I have to worry more about the bears around here than BF.
