Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 648 ![]() 04/20/2010 03:55 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | big whoop so make basic training a little bit longer so tubby can keep up Quoting: Anonymous Coward 922986That is the problem. Most can pass with the standards as they are already. When I was in basic it was a joke. Ability group runs....etc. Problem is, unless your in combat arms, once you pass basic and go to your duty station, the units train down to the weakest soldier. Not challenging what so ever. After 9 weeks of basic and than another 12 weeks of AIT, It is all down hill. |

We had to have haircuts like the marines and our standards were higher than the other army units (musicians tend to be in public a lot). I would sometimes see Army from other places and couldn't understand how they got away with looking like they did. Last Edited by Winningjob on 04/20/2010 04:08 PM |
Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 648 ![]() 04/20/2010 04:11 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Won't they lose weight if they stay in the military long enough? Quoting: ZTENot really, I personally know many who just get fatter over the years. Than they will lose just enough weight to not be flagged so they can get promoted or transfer to another duty station. Than back to getting fat. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 648Not really, I personally know many who just get fatter over the years. Than they will lose just enough weight to not be flagged so they can get promoted or transfer to another duty station. Than back to getting fat. Well they might lose weight during wartime. I guess it makes sense that they wouldn't when there's nothing to shoot at or run away from. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 905924 ![]() 04/20/2010 04:19 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Beleive me, they will be lowering the standards soon. Quoting: marisaAnd they will be carrying uniforms in Big Men's and Plus Size Women's. Maybe be more lax with the urine testing too. HOW ELSE will the recruitment maintain the numbers?? Numbers are what they want. Nah, they're overbooked as it is - too many recruits said my daughter's recruiting officer. |

By the time they loose their wait their deployment is almost over. Back to the states and the cycle starts all over again. |
dookie stain User ID: 907535 ![]() 04/20/2010 04:32 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Don't forget today's standards are watered down as it is....there was an article I read that tells me the military was not the one I served in....the article was saying soldiers running the obstacle course may use a ladder or other aids to get over or around an obstacle....reason being its better for the recruits to finish the obstacle course because failure would lower the recruit's self esteem.....what happen to go/no go?..... |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 947530 ![]() 04/20/2010 04:39 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Something's wrong with that article. In one place it says "nearly a quarter" don't qualify, and then later it says 75% don't qualify. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 905924?????????? Well, which is it? The 75% is overall not acceptible, do to many reasons such as not finishing high school, etc... |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 931125 ![]() 04/20/2010 08:50 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | One day I saw this 5 foot fat slob woman in camies and she looked like if she ran out on the field she might die of a heart attack. That's a shame that they lifted the weight standard by about 100 pounds. Back in the 80's, they would kick you out if you were 2 pounds overweight. How disgusting!!! Quoting: Anonymous Coward 931125I think they lifted it about 200 lbs, by the looks of that heifah. |

Quoting: dookie stain 907535WHATTTT!!!!!!?????? As a former bad man in the brown hat that screamed at people to go over those walls. A ladder, well gee (I don't cuss like that anymore) how do you? IN THE MOST SARCASTIC WAY: We have to carry ladders with us to war? Well do those darling have to pass PT tests? Tea and donuts in the morning? No pushups either I suppose? Maids to clean up their barracks and tuck them at night I suppose in jump school you havet the option to stay on the plane. I've got to go on the old DI forums and find out about this |
