Take Iran seriously

Iranian president's menacing statements stem from fanaticism, not complex political manoeuvres
Yaakov Lappin

When Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called for Israel to be “wiped off the map,” and repeatedly denied the genocide of six million Jews by the Nazis, analysts around the world rushed to explain away his fanatical statements. When he said that the State of Israel should be transplanted to Europe or Alaska, some said the new president needed to consolidate his internal power base. The statements were “without doubt an aim of domestic policy,” said Saed Leylaz, an Iranian political analyst.

According to Reuters writer Paul Hughes, “Ahmadinejad's strident anti-Israel rhetoric may be part of a strategy aimed at boosting his own standing at home and Iran’s role in the region.” A number of commentators in Israel reached this same, very logical conclusion.

Ahmadinejad worked hard to reverse reforms

There’s only one, very major problem with this approach: It relies on the assumption that Ahmadinejad is a rational leader, whose words and actions are guided by sane political calculations. Unfortunately, there is much evidence to suggest that the opposite is true.

IDF Intelligence Chief says Iran's threat on Israel growing due to U.S.'s deep involvement in Iraq; MK Steinitz: Improvement in Iran's missile capabilities worrying
Full Story

Ahmadinejad rushed to join the Islamic revolution of 1979 that overthrew the secular Shah who ruled Iran. He served in the Special Brigade of the Revolutionary Guards, and took part in covert raids against the Iraqi city of Kirkuk during the Iran - Iraq war. According to Iranian opposition websites, he helped coordinate a number of assassinations of “enemies of the revolution” abroad, and there are reports he helped plan an attempted killing of dissident author Salman Rusdhie.

Formerly mayor of Teheran, Ahmadinejad worked hard to reverse reforms made by previous moderate leaders. After rising to power as president, he wasted little time in taking up a confrontational, anti-Israel, anti-West stance, quickly achieving a growing isolation of Iran, a favored tactic by fascists in history to mask a dysfunctional economy.

'They were astonished'

A revealing video has recently appeared on an Iranian website, baztap.com, showing Ahmadinejad visiting a Shiite spiritual leader. Ahmadinejad did not seem to be fully aware that he was being filmed. He sat on the floor by his religious mentor, and calmly described his recent address to the United Nations, which he began with the words “in the name of Allah,” and which was peppered with Koranic references (one news network later described that speech as “intellectual.”)

The Iranian president described a “glow of light” that he thought surrounded him as he spoke, “I felt that all of a sudden the atmosphere changed there, and for 27-28 minutes all the leaders did not blink,” he said.

"I am not exaggerating when I say they did not blink; it's not an exaggeration, because I was looking. They were astonished as if a hand held them there and made them sit. It had opened their eyes and ears for the message of the Islamic Republic,” said the belligerent ruler of a country on the verge of acquiring the technology to produce nuclear weapons.

Ahmadinejad not guided by rational political theories

Ahmadinejad is in fact a fundamentalist believer in the coming of Muhammad al-Mahdi, the twelfth Shiite imam who, according to Shiite Islam, is currently in hiding, and will reappear to rule the earth just before the last day of time. Under the rule of the Mahdi, Shiite Islam is meant to spread around the world.

A Shiite scholar writes that among the many warning signs for the coming of the Mahdi, “a color will appear in the sky and spread to its horizons; a fire will appear for a long time in the east remaining in the air for three or seven days; the Arabs will throw off the reins and take possession of their land, throwing out the foreign authority…”

For his part, Ahmadinejad has proved his subscription to this view in front of the whole world, when he concluded his speech last September to the United Nations with the words: "O mighty Lord, I pray to you to hasten the emergence of your last repository, the promised one, that perfect and pure human being, the one that will fill this world with justice and peace.”

Ahmadinejad is not guided by rational political theories taught at Western schools of political science, but by an alarmingly dangerous fanatical belief in Shiite Islam and a wish to hasten the arrival of the Mahdi.

When he calls for Israel to be destroyed, there is no need to search for complex explanations and cite internal Iranian political conditions to understand the Iranian leader. Rather, he issues these declarations for the simple reason that he believes in them. His comments, taken at their face value, should be triggering off a global alarm.

CIA Director Porter Goss: Iran Has Nukes

Goss warns Ankara to be ready for a possible U.S. aerial operation against Iran and Syria

15 December 2005: As people in the U.S. readied themselves for Christmas, few were aware that CIA Director Porter Goss was in Ankara, Turkey on Monday, engaged in a meeting that lasted over four hours with Turkish Intelligence officials. Goss, accompanied by a large delegation, brought secret data about Iran as he met with officials of the Milli Istihbarat Teskilati, or MIT. Goss allegedly asked for Turkish support for the Bush administration's policies on Iran's nuclear activities, telling Turkish officials that Iran has nuclear weapons, a situation that created a huge threat to Turkey and other countries in the region.

Goss said that Iran sees Turkey as an enemy and will "export its regime," warning Ankara to be ready for a possible U.S. aerial operation against Iran and Syria.

On Tuesday Goss was driven in his armored BMW to a meeting with Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Additional dialogue reportedly focused on the intelligence data, with Goss warning Ankara to be ready for a possible U.S. aerial operation against Iran and Syria.

RELATED: IRAN ALREADY NUCLEAR ARMED - From MARCH

Contingency Planning for the Iranian Nuclear Threat

by Sean Osborne, Associate Director & Military Affairs Analyst

15 December 2005: Contingency Plans for a unilateral Israeli strike on Iranian nuclear capabilities are already well through planning stages due to the very real possibility that the time-line assessment of March 2006 being the point of no return for the Islamic Republic of Iran acquisition of nuclear weapons capability might be grossly in error.

Contrary to the assessment that the public hears via open-source media, the classified data on Iranian capabilities is probably altogether more disturbing. That actual vignettes for a strike against Iranian facilities are being run as a vital part advanced operational contingency planning has been reported on and otherwise whispered about for months now. This means real aircraft practicing for real strikes. This, more or less, means war - a bigger war than now exists in the Middle East/South West Asia.

The Israeli government and defense forces apparently believe that the Iranian Ayatollah's nuclear ambition can be stopped by military means, or that they have no option but to proceed with plans for a strike in the face of the existential threat a nuclear-armed Iran poses. No one in their right mind believes the Iranian's will stop their drive for nuclear weapons capability through diplomacy, and certainly not with Russian and Red Chinese assistance to Iran in every conceivably related technology - including delivery systems being full steam ahead.

The "Axis of Evil" enunciated by President Bush is ever-the-more evident in the efforts of these nations. In fact there is a better nomenclature for them -- they should be known as the Trans-Asian Axis. Their agenda and goals are diametrically opposed to the United States, Israel and the West as a whole.

What might happen?

My assessment is that Israel simply cannot deal with Iran in any unilateral military action. This is a fact made public by the Israeli newspaper Ma'ariv in a red-banner headline within the past few weeks.

This is also something I have made clear in my previous assessments in the recent past. Israel will, of absolute necessity, require US Air Force and Naval Aviation participation in any airborne strike against Iranian facilities. Israel will in the remaining interim hope for if not actively press for joint US/EU participation, particularly from the UK. In my original assessment I pointed out that Israeli F-15I strike aircraft would form the bulk striking power of any Israeli piloted airborne force - these aircraft as designed for such a mission profile as will be required. US aircraft would be similar and also provide the electronic cover for any joint airborne strike force.

It is widely not reported upon that Israel also probably possesses an missile-borne strike force capable of pin-point accuracy. Evidence of this exists in the fact that Israeli Ofek-5 spy satellites are capable of ephemeris-driven space maneuvers as required for nuclear re-entry vehicles. Defensively, Israeli Arrow BMD and US PAC-3 Patriots would provide anti-ballistic counter fire against anything Iran put into the air.

The truly unknown factors are what will come out of Hezbollah-controlled areas of Southern Lebanon and Syria in retaliation for any strike on Iran. We may find out where Saddam's WMD went after all. We may also discover this as a result of any potential enemy pre-emptive action in the near-term.

Palestinians Prepare New, High-explosive Warheads for Qassam Missiles

December 25, 2005
Debka

The Palestinians have smuggled in from Sinai to the Gaza Strip what military sources have told DEBKAfile’ is “a monstrous amount” of high explosives, to improve the precision and effectiveness of the Qassam missiles fired across the border against Israeli towns and villages.

Our sources reveal the new, lethal explosives come from military production factories in Slovakia and Serbia.

Egyptian special border forces supposed to police the Philadelphi route border have permitted the illicit supplies to roll past them in the last few days without lifting a finger. Once inside the Gaza Strip, the explosives are going straight into Palestinian workshops working around the clock to fit the military-grade TNT and Semtex on their Qassam missiles in place of the home-made, hit-or-miss warheads. These workshops have not been bombed by the Israeli air force for some weeks. The powerfully upgraded Qassam missiles with boosted destructive capabilities are therefore expected to start flying shortly.

In the last three months, some 300 Qassam missiles have been fired from Gaza against Israeli civilian locations, an average of three per day. While disrupting lives and keeping their victims on edge, most have flown wide of the mark, causing no casualties and little damage. Many fall short on the Palestinian side of the Gazan border. In the last two weeks, Palestinian missile crews have become more ambitious and aimed at strategic targets in the Ashkelon area and a big military base south of the city. Four Israeli soldiers were slightly injured last week and that was the sum of the damage.

But once the homemade primitive warheads are replaced with military-grade explosives, the Palestinian terrorists can hope to inflict death and destruction on an entirely different scale. Israeli officers in the southern command have warned the Sharon government that the new explosives not only place the big power station and oil port installations of Ashkelon in great peril, but arm Palestinian suicide bombers with more powerful bomb vests and can be used in car bombs for assaults on a level previously unknown in the Palestinian war against Israel.

DEBKAfile’s counter-terror sources add that the smuggling of wholesale quantities of war materiel to Gaza was a high-cost operation. Agents purchased the merchandise in Slovakia and the Balkans, underground networks freighted it across the Mediterranean to Sinai and there, more accomplices transported the explosives up to the Gazan border.

Unlike the Karin-A shipment arms cargo seized by Israeli commandos exactly four years ago, no Israeli hand stepped in to snap the chain bringing new tools of war into terrorist hands in the Gaza Strip.

DEBKAfile Exclusive: The Palestinian armory has a new weapon: Jenin-1 on the West Bank joins the Qassam missile of Gaza

January 2, 2006, 12:00 AM (GMT+02:00)

It may have been the IDF computer, but whoever chose the romantic name of Blue Skies for Israel’s no-go zone operation in northern Gaza to stop the firing of Qassam missiles from northern Gaza must have a fine sense of irony. Sunday, the first day of the New Year, the skies were indeed blue but the air below was clouded by four Qassam missiles launched for the first time from three Gaza Strip sectors. One missile fired from the south, near the Egyptian border, landed near Kibbutz Mivtahim; two more launched from the center exploded outside Nir Oz and a fourth fired from the no-go zone in the north blew up at the edge of Sderot. No one was hurt in this barrage.

The IDF explained that all the missiles were fired from outside the buffer belt, proving that the new tactic was successfully pushing the Palestinian terrorists south. DEBKAfile’s military experts see things in a different light. The Sharon government is holding Israel’s armed forces on a tight leash against taking effective action to halt the Qassam offensive. In consequence, Israel’s deterrent capability is being ground down in Palestinian eyes.

Furthermore, three weeks ago, the Palestinians were able to fire their first missile from the West Bank into Israel. It was aimed from a point north of Jenin at Moshav Adirim outside the West Bank less than 8-9 km distant. The news was held back officially and only partially released for publication Friday night Dec. 30 when media viewing is low.

DEBKAfile’s military sources report that the West Bank version of the Qassam was developed by the ruling Fatah al Aqsa Brigades faction in Jenin, Nablus and Tulkarm, for distribution across the West Bank. These sources have no doubt that Jenin-1 will soon be followed by Jenin-2 and Jenin-3, with improved range and a more powerful blast.

The Jenin differs from the Gazan Qassam in two important respects:

1. It does not depend on Gaza-developed technology, but is a West Bank product from start to finish.

2. It is not wielded by Hamas and Jihad Islami like the Qassam but the weapon of the al Aqsa Brigades, a branch of the ruling Fatah of which Mahmoud Abbas is the titular head, along with the jailed terrorist Marwan Barghouti. The first is the US-Israeli partner in dialogue; the latter heads the Fatah slate for the Jan. 25 election.

Once the Jenin missile starts flying towards Israel’s population centers, the security situation will start plunging not only around Gaza’s blue skies but also opposite the West Bank.

THE ROAD FROM ROME

by Barry Chamish

29 Dec 2005

It has been barely a month since the Israeli government apparently agreed to cede some real estate on Jerusalem's Mount Zion to the Vatican and barely two weeks since I reported on the deep background to the affair. Since that time, a great deal of mail has arrived rounding out the picture. As grateful as I am for the new information, another event surpassed it. At a recent dinner party, the hostess informed me that she had sold her book collection but had kept one volume back. She agreed to lend it to me.
The book is called All Roads Lead To Rome? (Dorchester House Publications). It is a detailed study of how the ecumenical movement is razing the foundations of the Anglican church in England, and replacing it with the ceremonies and beliefs of the Roman Catholic church. The author, Michael de Semlyen, is a leader of a British Evangelist group and this is going to cause difficulties with my Jewish readers who are tired of looking over their shoulders waiting for another Evangelist trying to "save them from Hell."
To these readers, I can only assure you that this book is vital to the understanding you need to protect yourself from mortal danger. I am well aware that given the choice of who is more threatening to the Jews, the Evangelist movement or the Vatican, American Jews would choose the former because of their conversion practises. But they are very wrong. These practises are patronizing and insulting, but they are a mere inconvenience compared to the past and present mass murder of the Jews secretly organized by the papacy.
The Jews should be deeply grateful for Protestantism. As soon as any nation replaced Catholicism with a new Protestant state religion, the slaughter and torture of the Catholic inquisition stopped and decency took over. The Protestant nations of Europe and the British Commonwealth offered their Jews a secure shelter they had never known in any Catholic country. By fighting to protect Protestantism worldwide, de Semlyen, is fighting to protect the safety of Jews worldwide.
Which leads to an issue that should bother all Jews. Why is it that only Christian writers are exposing the depths of venality that has seen the Jews massacred by the Vatican through the millennia? Where are the Jewish voices investigating the papacy and its current manipulations against the Jewish state? Why, in this time of desperate intellectual need, are Jewish writers so lame?
But that is the fact and those of us seeking the deep truth about Israel's current disastrous decline must turn to Christian writers like de Semlyen to get to the bottom of matters...At least until our own writers stop with their conventional claptrap and start investigating for themselves.
De Semlyen finished his book in 1991, and some of his findings are more than merely interesting in light of historical events which followed them, and needless to say, he could have known nothing about. Let us look at what his research tells us about the current Pope Benedict XVI.

pp. 162-3 - The Rehabilitation of the Inquisition of old is something of an article of faith for the Vatican; for the Inquisition is alive and well and, within the restrictive limits placed on it by democratic freedoms, as powerful as ever. Roman Catholic author and former priest, Peter de Rosa, in his 1988 book Vicars Of Christ, The Dark Side Of The Papacy, writes about the modern Inquisition: ' Located at Casa Santa, the pope's house is known locally as the Palace of the Inquisition. In recent years, having had a bad press, the Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Inquisition, like the Soviet secret police, has been renamed more than once. In 1908, this oldest of Rome's Sacred Congregations became The Holy Office. From 1967, it changed to the Congregation For The Doctrine Of The Faith. The present secretary and Chief Executive. the Grand Inquisitor Of Old, is the Bavarian Cardinal Ratzinger'...According to the Catholic Herald, ' Austere Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger is dubbed in Italy as the latter day inquisitor for his Doctrinaire Guidance as prefect of the Congregation For The Doctrine Of The Faith.'

What do you know? The pope was, until his investiture, the Grand Inquisitor of the church, the same post which saw millions of Jews, tortured, mutilated, or if they were lucky, merely forced to flee or hide their faith.
De Semlyen also provides surprising background on Princess Diana, written years before her assassination.

pp. 149, 162-3 - When Newman became Britain's most famous convert to Rome in 1845, his confession prior to his confirmation was heard by George Spencer, known as Father Ignatius Spencer of St. Paul, who also acted as his sponsor. Great great great uncle to Princess Diana, as well as great uncle to Sir Winston Churchill and convert to Rome in 1930, just before the start of the Oxford Movement, Fr Spencer is now in line for 'Sainthood.'...
The Parker-Bowles family is Catholic. Princess Diana, much influenced by her spiritual rapport with Mother Teresa and her favorite clairvoyant, Irish Roman Catholic psychic Betty Palko, is 'taking instruction from a Dominican priest to convert to the Roman Catholic faith, at a secret Oxford address,' reported the tabloid newspapers, Today and The People.
If these reports are true, the princess, once converted, may well ask the Pope for an annulment to her marriage, based on the infidelity of Prince Charles. This would create a constitutional crisis that would very likely assist the ambitions of Rome.

However, what interests us most, is the Vatican's push to create a one world religion with its capital in Jerusalem.

pp. 17 - In May 1989, a group of 100 Pentecostal and Charismatic leaders representing 30 nations, met to pray for a Decade of Evangelism in Jerusalem's ecumenical Notre Dame Centre.

pp. 19 - Robert Runcie, Archbishop of Canterbury and an enthusiastic ecumenist, told BBC Radio Three; "It is entirely possible that the Anglican Church could disappear to make way for a united world church."

pp. 56 - A remarkable revelation from a 1990 book, The Keys Of This Blood, written by a former Jesuit, Malachi Martin, is that Pope John Paul II is convinced he will be called in the 1990s to be the moral and spiritual leader of a world government.

pp. 73 - Roman Catholic writer, Piers Compton, in his book, The Broken Cross, recounts in considerable detail, the initiation of Angelo Roncalli, late Pope John XXIII, into the society of the Rose-Croix, or Rosicrucians, in 1935. He also lists eleven cardinals and 75 prelates of the Church, together with their code names and dates of initiation into secret societies.
Masonry encourages all religions. 'The Great Architect of the Universe,' it is argued, can be approached through many mediators including Buddah, Muhammed, Krishna or Christ. Freemasonry offers little or no resistance to ecumenical unity and thus freemasonry and Catholicism, freed from the difficulties of the past, can share a common goal in overseeing a one world faith.

pp. 75 - The world's statesmen and rulers continue to seek audiences to consult the pope on global strategy. George Schultz, America's Secretary of State, consulted the pope before major discussions, stopping off at the Vatican on the way to Middle East peace conferences. Yasser Arafat, after the American acceptance of the December 1988 PLO peace initiative at the United Nations, also stopped at the Vatican on Dec 24, presumably for more than a Christmas blessing. Arafat has met with the pope more than once...
The Reformer Magazine sounded a warning: "It is not without significance that Mikhail Gorbachev went to see the Pope in this time of crisis. This stirs fear in many hearts. The reunion of Germany under a Vatican-dominated party gives cause for concern. Will history be repeated? Will there be a pro-Vatican bloc in Europe again, this time allied to Russia with Poland, Hungary, Romania and Czechoslovakia in tow? Will this be a repeat on a wider scale of the Vatican's support of the central powers leading up to the First World War and the Fascist powers in the Second World War? These are pertinent questions. The Vatican has never lost its objective of world dominion."

pp 83 - Interviewed on Denver's KLTT Radio, Dr. Malachi Matin spoke of three forces battling for total domination of the planet, as the world races towards annihilation. The contenders were John Paul II, Mikhail Gorbachev and the capitalist West. As the world's spiritual and moral leader, he would lead a world government with absolute authority to decide all basic issues of human survival and human prosperity.

pp 85 - Many believe, and not only Christians, that Europe is destined to be the center of a final world empire, as the Holy Roman Empire restored. The European newspaper reported that, "The Christian Democratic leaders from Belgium, Germany, Greece, Italy, and the Netherlands backed far-reaching plans for the transfer of national sovereignty and the establishment of a federal government, with sole control over monetary, foreign and defence policy."

pp 87 - Dutch Prime Minister, Rund Lubbers, a devout Catholic who attended a Jesuit College, was the architect of the Maastricht Treaty on Political Union. Lubbers worked closely with Jacques Delors, also Jesuit-educated, in furthering the Maastricht agenda, undeterred by the mounting distrust of the treaty by the European people.

pp 100-01 - Author Roy Livesey is convinced that much of what we see is an elaborately devised smokescreen for the deception fashioned by the Jesuit Order and the Church of Rome...Another professor of history, Norman Cohn, writing about ' the myth of the Jewish World conspiracy,' states in his book Warrant For Genocide that it can be traced back to a French Jesuit, Abbe Barruel, who instigated the myth on which the infamous Protocols Of The Elders Of Zion were based...
Like the Vatican, the New Age has close links with powerful organizations such as the UN, UNESCO, the World Council of Churches, the Bilderberg Group and the Freemasons. Other organizations and movements with a political agenda, such as the many various peace and disarmament groups, also act as a veil behind which one-world government and one-world religion are taking shape.

pp 128 - The order of the Society of Jesus was founded by Ignatius Loyola to secretly accomplish two major goals for the Roman Catholic Institution. The first was to obtain universal political power; the second, to establish the universal church.

pp 133 - Dr. J.H. Lehmann points out in his book Behind The Dictators that the Jesuit Father Staempfle wrote Mein Kampf for Hitler.

The infiltration of the Vatican's symbology on the Israeli psyche is far deeper than Israelis can fathom. Let one example suffice for now. When the new shekel coin was introduced just over a decade ago, the imprint on one side didn't seem Jewish. It wasn't a symbol of Judaism like the date palm, menorah or even the Medieval star of David, it was a three petaled lily. Beneath it on the left side are three other symbols which may have a perfectly good explanation, but it's not known to the public whatever it may be. From top to bottom they appear to be a gallows, a yardarm with a = sign, and a Z with a - sign. Who knows what the shekel is trying to tell us, but two of my correspondents have come to similar conclusions:

Have you looked at a Shekel lately? "Joan of Arc carried a white banner that showed G-d blessing the French royal emblem, the fleur-de-lis, when she led French troops to victory over the English in support of the Dauphin, Charles VII, in his quest for the French throne. The Roman Catholic Church ascribed the lily as the special emblem of the Virgin Mary. Due to its three "petals," the fleur-de-lis has also been used to represent the Holy Trinity."
Not even the Shekel has escaped the disintegration.

A picture that I have seen from a Cabbalistic source showed the
triple crown tiara on a flame-breathing dragon for the Solar deity
worship shows exactly what these people intend to do: worship the
ancient deities of the sun, moon and stars. The Jewish leaders can't
get close enough to him. He is wearing the same outfits as the
apostate Herodian temple high priests of 1900 years ago, wearing the
same kingly tiara of three crowns...The secret societies that want to
put him in place believe he is the most qualified. One of the books
that I recently viewed showed that the ancient Herodian temple of
1900 years ago had the same exact Vatican snake pillars inside. The
apostates will continue to congregate with their fellows. The
solution is to listen to what the legends have told our people.

Papal Homily on 40th Anniversary of Close of Vatican II

She is the offshoot from which grew the tree of redemption and of the redeemed. God has not failed, as it might have seemed formerly at the beginning of history with Adam and Eve or during the period of the Babylonian Exile, and as it seemed anew in Mary's time when Israel had become a people with no importance in an occupied region and with very few recognizable signs of its holiness.

God did not fail. In the humility of the house in Nazareth lived holy Israel, the pure remnant. God saved and saves his people. From the felled tree trunk Israel's history shone out anew, becoming a living force that guides and pervades the world. Mary is holy Israel: She says "yes" to the Lord, she puts herself totally at his disposal and thus becomes the living temple of God.

Hamas Runs for Election Vowing Never to Talk to Israel or Disarm

DEBKAfile Special Report

January 8, 2006, 5:26 PM (GMT+02:00)

Hamas campaigners, confident of a strong showing in the Jan 25 elections for the Palestinian legislative council, announced in Gaza City Sunday, Jan. 8, that, if elected, they will put an end to any Palestinian talks with Israel. Negotiations with the Zionist entity will only take place through the barrel of a gun, said the man topping the Hamas list, Ismail Haniya.

Hamas Gaza leader Mahmoud al-Zahar dismissed European threats to cut off funds if the terrorist group enters Palestinian government. If they do, he said, “We have our sources in the Arab and Muslim world.” None of the West Bank local councils captured by Hamas is short of funds, he boasted.

According to the last opinion polls, the gap between Mahmoud Abbas’ ruling Fatah and the Hamas challenger has further shrunk to 6-8%.This means that the Islamic terrorists who have vowed to destroy Israel have a good chance of winning the election in 17 days’ time. Even from second place, they can form a coalition government, set up an alternative administration to Fatah, or create an opposition bloc in parliament able to immobilize any government in which they are not partners.

Sunday, Jan 8, at the first regular cabinet meeting in Jerusalem led by acting prime minister Ehud Olmert, Israeli defense minister Shaul Mofaz said he was confident the Palestinian poll would be delayed for fear of a Hamas victory. Mahmoud Abbas and fellow Fatah leader, the jailed Marwan Barghouti, have also admitted they would prefer a postponement.

However, according to DEBKAfile’s political sources, this option is not theirs for the asking. It is solidly blocked by US president George W. Bush, who refuses to hear of any poll rescheduling in the Palestinian areas, just as he did in Iraq. To hold the Palestinians to the date – even at the price of a terrorist win - he sent US military coordinator Maj-Gen Keith Dayton post haste to the region Friday, Jan. 6. Monday, the general will receive reinforcements from Washington in the form of deputy national security adviser Elliot Abrams and undersecretary of state David Welch. In the first week of Ariel Sharon’s absence from the prime minister’s office, the Israeli government was seen pinning its hopes on an illusion.

Over the weekend, when all Israeli eyes were fixed on Hadassah Ain Karem Hospital for the latest medical bulletins on Sharon’s condition, four dangerous developments unfolded in the Palestinian arena practically unnoticed.

1. Mahoud Abbas (aka Abu Mazen) succumbed to the Fatah-al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades revolt against his administration in Rafah, the border town divided between the Gaza Strip and Egypt. He swallowed the conquest of the entire strategic border strip by this lawless group. Israeli intelligence regards this successful rebellion as the beginning of a revolt against Abbas’s authority that threatens to engulf other Gazan cities as well as the West Bank.

2. In Khan Younes, 7 terrorist factions set up a local vigilante militia to enforce order in the South Gazan region that was formerly the site of Israeli Gush Katif. Calling themselves a police force, they have avowedly displaced the Palestinian Authority, driving another nail into the coffin of Abu Mazen’s rule and security control of the Gaza Strip.

3. An increasing number of independent candidates running for office are turning to Hamas for patronage and campaign funding. A striking example is Dr. Ziad Abu Amar, a prominent Fatah figure who used to be Abu Mazen’s go-between with the Hamas on truce issues. This week, Abu Amar stood on one campaign platform with Mahmoud Al Zahar wearing a baseball cap in the Hamas color green.

4. DEBKAfile’s counter-terror sources reveal that 10 radical Jihad Islami leaders headed by Abdallah Shami have passed through the Rafah crossing to Egypt on their way to the Saudi hajj city of Mecca. According to those sources, the group is rendezvousing there with Iranian Revolutionary Guards commanders of Tehran’s terrorist cells. Disguised as pilgrims, they are to discuss coordinating and funding a fresh terror campaign against Israel.

Despite international guarantees, the Rafah crossing has deteriorated into a mainline transit hub whose main function is to ease terrorist movements between the Palestinian Gaza Strip, Sinai, Damascus and Tehran.

The Israeli government, handicapped by Ariel Sharon’s abrupt disappearance from the scene of government, has still not got around to addressing any of these grave developments.

The Most High rules in the kingdom of men

He, and He alone, is the One Who removes kings and raises up kings

As I write this, Ariel Sharon is lying on an operating table in a Jerusalem hospital, fighting for his life after suffering a massive stroke and intense cerebral hemorrhaging.

The news of his collapse shocked all who heard about it, sending many people to prayer for his recovery and well being.

Senior officials close to Sharon have expressed pessimism about whether the prime minister will survive the night.

Speculation on all the Israeli and major international news networks is rife, even frenzied, as to the impact Sharon’s illness will have on the upcoming Israeli elections in the short term and on the Israeli-Arab peace process in the long term.

Sharon is “one of the most important prime ministers Israel has ever had,” according to Ha’aretz reporter Ari Shavit.

He is “a crucial man at a crucial time,” said CNN’s Jonathan Mann.

His being incapacitated at this time “is sure to throw Israeli politics and Middle East peacemaking into turmoil” predicted one of Mann’s colleagues.

“All the world’s leaders are watching very closely what is happening in Jerusalem,” added the network’s John Vause.

And as expressions of concern for Sharon and for the peace process were being aired from the White House to 10 Downing Street and from Paris to Beijing, expressions of consternation and anxiety were being voiced by many “experts” at the prospect of former prime minister Binyamin Netanyahu being returned to power in March.

Sky News’ Emma Hurd unleashed a stream of negative opinion about Netanyahu, portraying him as an enemy of the “peace process” and the last man anyone with hopes for “progress” in the diplomatic process would want to see win.

Leftist Israeli journalist and senior fellow at the Jaffee Center for Strategic Studies Hirsh Goodman described Netanyahu as a man whose policies are diametrically opposed to Sharon’s and under whose leadership the Road Map “peace” plan would bog down.

Whatever those who influence opinion and policy feel about Sharon and Netanyahu, the irrefutable fact is that on Wednesday morning, according to polls published in the Israeli press, Netanyahu and his Likud were considered almost certain losers in the upcoming elections, while Sharon was believed to be a shoe in; his party enjoying the prospect of a 42 seat majority and being able to move forward largely unimpeded with Sharon’s “disengagement” policy.

In the matter of just a few hours the whole picture has been transformed, the predictable future has become unpredictable. Sharon is on his way down. Netanyahu is on his way up.

In 1991, when this writer first came to live and work in Jerusalem, Ariel Sharon, Israel’s greatest warrior, was considered unelectable. The shadow of the misnamed Lebanon War (actually Operation Peace for Galilee) and the massacres carried out by Israel’s allies in the Sabra and Shatilla refugee camps had made the then Defense Minister loathsome in the eyes of the majority of the electorate, all but assuring that he would never be able to run for the premiership.

Back then, and in the ensuing years as the people of Israel were sucked into the Oslo Process, with the resulting erosion of their national security and escalation in terrorism, evangelical Christians in Israel and abroad prayed for the “impossible” – that God would keep Sharon in good health and place him at Israel’s helm.

Surely “the warrior” would shatter the land-for-peace mirage and re-establish Israel’s security parameters, extending Jewish rule deep into Israel’s biblical land?

The “impossible” did happen. Sharon became prime minister in 2001, riding into office on a wave of votes appealing for security after Oslo exploded in the 2ndintifada and funerals for Israeli victims of terrorism went off the charts.

High hopes were pinned on Sharon. They were dashed. Last year saw the “father of the Israeli settler movement” abandon the Gaza Strip to the Arabs in what he explained was the beginning of a process of “disengagement” from the “Palestinians.”

Sharon’s willingness to proceed with the forced removal of his people from their homes in Gaza pushed hundreds of thousands of Jews to prayer. Untold numbers of Christians, too, went to prayer for divine intervention. God-fearing men, women and children proclaimed their belief that the “disengagement” would never take place; that the Almighty would step in and perform a miracle.

The miracle never came, and just over four months ago the world watched and applauded, while many believers watched and wept, as Jewish communities were erased from the map of Gaza, and thousands of Israelis became refugees in their own land at the hands of their own government.

There is no doubt that the prayers and tears reached to heaven, and were heard there. God, Whose ways are not our ways, did not step in to prevent the expulsion. He has, however, stepped in now.

As Prime Minister, Sharon was frequently heard to express his belief that “no one” could tell him how to run the country; “no one” could teach him what he needed to know to provide security for his people; “no one” would tell him what to do.

This very afternoon, just hours before he was felled by his second stroke, Sharon declared his intention to – after the elections he was so sure he would win – continue to “disengage,” letting go great swathes of Judea and Samaria, Israel’s biblical heartland, and pulling his nation behind a “security wall” while enabling the State of Palestine to be established on the other side.

If the medical and political experts flooding the airwaves tonight are only partially correct in their estimations, this is a policy Sharon will never be able to carry out.

He has been unseated; the reins of power have been taken from his hands.

As a colleague told me in reaction this evening: “It is hard to ignore the fact that after so many years of being so strong, Sharon suddenly goes down just months after dividing the land and promising to do so again.”

Who will replace him? This is the question now uppermost in people’s minds. Could it be Binyamin (Bibi) Netanyahu? What about Ehud Olmert; Tzipi Livni; Amir Peretz?

As the prophet Daniel wrote thousands of years ago, there is One Who will decide:

He removes kings and raises up kings; (Daniel 2:20-21)

“[T]he Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever He chooses." (Daniel 4:32)

Our faith is in Him, not in man. May God have mercy and show compassion to Mr. Sharon, restoring him to health and strength.

And may He raise up the man He purposes to lead Israel into the critical and “uncharted” future.

Tehran plans a nuclear weapons test before March 20, 2006 – the Iranian New Year, moves Shahab-3 missiles within striking range of Israel

January 22, 2006, 9:30 AM (GMT+02:00)

Reporting this, the dissident Foundation for Democracy in Iran, a US-based watch group, cites sources in the US and Iran. The FDI adds from Iran: on June 16, the high command of the Revolutionary Guards Air Force ordered Shahab-3 missile units to move mobile launchers every 24 hours instead of weekly. This is in view of a potential pre-emptive strike by the US or Israel.

Advance Shahab-3 units have been positioned in Kermanshah and Hamad within striking distance of Israel, reserve launchers moved to Esfahan and Fars.

The missile units were told to change positions “in a radius of 30-35 kilometers” and only at night.

DEBKAfile’s Iranian sources add: FDI reporting has a reputation for credibility. Western and Israeli intelligence have known for more than six months that Iran’s nuclear program has reached the capability of being able to carry out a nuclear explosion, albeit underground. It would probably be staged in a desert or mountain region and activated by a distant control center. Tehran would aim at confronting the Americans, Europeans and Israelis with an irreversible situation.

At the same time, an explosion of this sort would indicate that Iran is not yet able to produce a nuclear bomb that can be delivered by airplane or a warhead adapted to a missile. The stage Iran has reached is comparable to Pakistan’s when it conducted its first nuclear tests in the nineties and North Korea’s in 2001. All the same, an Iranian underground nuclear blast, which will most probably be attempted on March 22, would turn around the strategic position of all the parties concerned and the Middle East as whole.

The question now is: will the United States, Israel or both deliver a pre-emptive strike ahead of the Iranian underground test - or later? Or will Washington alternatively use the event to bring the UN Security Council round to economic sanctions? Tehran is already organizing to withstand economic penalties. For Israel, the timing is getting tight in view of its general election on March 28. Acting prime minister Ehud Olmert must take into account that a ruling party which allows an Iranian nuclear explosion to take place six days before the poll would draw painful punishment from the voter.

A Cup of Trembling:
Prognosis for Jerusalem?
by Chuck Missler
PURSUE THIS TOPIC:
RESOURCES
The Magog Invasion
The Prodigal Heirs
Betrayal of the Chosen

As this issue goes to press, the entire world is wondering what is going to happen to Jerusalem. About 2,500 years ago, the prophet Zechariah recorded God's predictions regarding this troubled city:

Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem .

And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be torn in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it. -Zechariah 12:2, 3

On the face of it, this prophecy would seem an absurd prediction for our modern day! Here is a city with no natural resources, no harbor, no river - no reason to have any strategic significance. It no longer controls any trade routes or has any apparent reason for geopolitical strategic relevance.

It wouldn't seem that important culturally: only a relatively small portion of Jewish people regard it as significant. Even if all Jews were concerned, it still would not represent a centroid for "all the people of the earth to be gathered together against it."

The Muslims controlled it for a thousand years and they let it crumble into rubble - until they discovered it was significant to the Jews; then, of course, it became critical to Islam.

Christians regard it for historical and Biblical reasons, but not to die for. And yet, the late lights are burning tonight in every headquarters of every capital of every nation that has international relevance, and their leaders are struggling with what to do about the issue of Jerusalem!

The Restoration of the Nation Israel

The centuries of debate concerning the destiny of the Jewish people - and disputes among Biblical scholars on the issue of the eventual restoration of the nation of Israel - should have come to a close with the restoration of the Jewish homeland in 1948. The prophet Isaiah seems to have anticipated this event when he penned:

And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.

And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth. -Isaiah 11:11, 12

"The second time?" The first regathering was after the Babylonian Captivity.1 The second regathering began as the 19th century drew to a close with the efforts of Theodr Herzl and others, and finally climaxed with the formal declaration on May 14, 1948, when the world listened on international radio to David Ben Gurion declaring that the name of the new Jewish homeland was "Israel."

(The debates as to whether the Old Testament passages were to be taken seriously or not should have ended on that date.)

The subsequent struggles of this tiny state against seemingly insurmountable armed enemies have, of course, been the legends of modern times.

And the legacy of hatred continues to challenge their very right to exist.

The Peace of Jerusalem

Will there be peace in Jerusalem? Apparently not until the Prince of Peace takes over. Jesus said that,

...Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. - Luke 21:24

The "Times of the Gentiles" began with King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon and will continue until the Coming World Leader (known popularly as the "Antichrist") makes his appearance and is dealt with. There will be a false peace, however, when this "Prince that shall come" will "enforce a covenant," ostensibly for an anticipated period of seven years.

The "Piece" Process

As we have repeatedly pointed out, the peace process that began at Oslo virtually guarantees a war in the Middle East. The entire charade is based on a false premise: it assumes that the Muslim ambitions can be appeased by reducing the borders of Israel, even though the Muslim leadership has repeatedly - before, during, and after the Oslo Accords - and clearly maintained that they will not rest until the very existence of Israel has been eliminated.

They are insisting on what Israel cannot yield. The legacy of hate that they inculcate their children with continues without any pretense of abatement.

Will God Intervene?

The Bible does indicate that there will come a specific event which will herald God, once again, intervening on behalf of His people Israel: God will intervene to thwart an invasion from the far north. Speaking to the leader of the land of Magog (which we are convinced refers to Russia),3 God says:

And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes...

Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the LORD. - Ezekiel 38:16, 23

This passage is well known to Bible prophecy buffs, as it also seems to suggest the use of nuclear weapons.4 The more one knows about the technical details of this passage, and the more one knows about what is presently going on in that region, the more it would seem that this event may be on our near horizon.

But Why?

Why is God going to intervene? Why does Israel deserve such special attention? The answer is most surprising:

And I scattered them among the heathen, and they were dispersed through the countries: according to their way and according to their doings I judged them.

And when they entered unto the heathen, whither they went, they profaned my holy name, when they said to them, "These are the people of the LORD, and are gone forth out of his land."

But I had pity for mine holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the heathen, whither they went.

Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name's sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went.

And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, saith the Lord GOD, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.

For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land. . . -Ezekiel 36:19-24

It's not for their sakes: it's because God's name is on the commitment. So it is written, so it will be done.

A Most Exciting Time

It is disturbing to realize that the God of the Universe has put His name on a particular piece of real estate. While "the earth is the Lord's and fulness thereof," He has chosen to call a particular parcel of ground His Own. It doesn't belong to the Palestinians; it doesn't belong to the U.N. It doesn't even belong to Israel, except as tenants under conditions of obedience.

When we muck around in the Middle East foreign policies, we are poking our finger in the eye of God! It's His Land, and we need to stand clear of His plans and programs.

And yet, the future scenario has been described, in detail, in His Word. And we are approaching His consummation of all things. Here is the premise that we suggest you challenge - not accept - but check out for yourself:

"We are being plunged into a period of time about which the Bible says more than it does about any other period of time in history - including the time when Jesus walked the shores of Galilee and climbed the mountains of Judea."

To check out this ostensibly preposterous statement, you need to do two things:

1) Find out what the Bible says about the "end times" (not what some popular book suggests, but what the Bible really says).

2) Find out what is really going on in the geopolitical horizon. This isn't easy when you recognize that the mainline media prides itself in shaping an agenda rather than informing a public. (John Loeffler's strategic review of the Middle East, The Struggle For Jerusalem, is an excellent start.)

The turbulence which may lie ahead can be an exciting adventure if you know where you personally stand in regards to it all. It is, indeed, time to do your own homework!

Does anyone has the stomach really for regime change in Teheran???

I almost fell of the chair laughing at this article, as it tries to link Hamastan as the "known known" to Teheran and its "unknown unknowns" in the nuclear smoke screen, while the Iranian Oil Bourse goes Euro in a few weeks. Seen that, done that. Keep in mind India is slowly but certainly moving to the Iranian side. And Russia offered to produce the Iranian nuke fuel, which Bush welcomed. Russia gives Iran its nuke energy and evyrone is happy. So what is the Problem here anway apart from the dollars taking a re-evaluation during Neptune-Saturn opposition in August 2006?

Here a few excerpts (of the 2nd page) of this fascinating editorial -- which goes over three pages -- at Jerusalem Post:

Eye of the storm:

For Iran, think regime change
By AMIR TAHERI

... "We also know that next week Teheran will host the largest gathering of "rejectionists" from all over the world, including leaders of Hamas. On the agenda is "an Islamic strategy to destroy the Jewish state and recover Palestine for Islam."

ANOTHER "known known" is that the terror jamboree in Teheran also includes a seminar to prove that "the Holocaust is a Jewish fabrication to generate sympathy for Israel," to quote Ayatollah Mesbah Yazdi, the regime's ideological rising star.

More than 100 "scholars" from 40 countries are scheduled to attend. Teheran has also issued an invitation to British Prime Minister Tony Blair to come and "find out that the Holocaust never happened."

WELL, THE so-called international community may again dismiss all that as "no business of ours" because the only target appears to be Israel.

But then what about what the Islamic Republic is doing in Iraq and Afghanistan, to mention just two examples of Teheran's attempt at exporting its Khomeinist ideology? Teheran has also revived contacts with dissident Shi'ite exiles from Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. And last December Teheran encouraged radical Shi'ites in Kuwait to form a party to oppose "American-inspired democratization."

All that fits into what Interior Minister Mostafa Pour-Muhammadi has described as "master plan for a pan-Shi'ite caliphate" covering part of the Balkans, Turkey, the Middle East, the Caucasus, Central Asia, Afghanistan and the Persian Gulf, with Iran's "Supreme Guide" as the caliph.

Last August Ahmadinejad presented a broader version of that strategy to the Islamic Majlis (parliament) as his government's action plan. In it he said the Islamic Republic had to prepare for a clash of civilizations between Islam under Iranian leadership and the West led by the United States.

Ahmadinejad has asserted that the Islamic Republic intends to resist "George W. Bush's plans for an American-style Middle East," and would fight to impose its Khomeinist model. He has dismissed the Arab states of the Persian Gulf as "petrol stations, not real countries" and called for an "Islamic revolution" in Egypt and North Africa.

Teheran is also using Hizbullah, which it founded and controls, to frustrate Lebanon's hopes of democratization.

And last month, in a trip to Damascus, Ahmadinejad offered a broader interpretation of the Iran-Syria Defense Cooperation Agreement of 2002 to commit Teheran to supporting President Bashar Assad's beleaguered regime against its "internal and external enemies." According to Damascus sources, he asked Assad to "stand firm until Bush and the Americans leave the Middle East."

The immediate effect of Ahmadinejad's visit was a hardening of the Syrian position vis- -vis the United Nations' investigation of the murder of former Lebanese Premier Rafik Hariri.

Dep. prime minister Haim Ramon proposed Monday, Oct. 8, ahead of the prime minister’s address to the opening of the Knesset's winter session, that Israel reject the Palestinian principle of the “right of return” (of the 1948 refugees) and offer instead the yardstick of “compassion and mercy.”

Last week Ramon floated another plan: to hand control of Jerusalem’s Jewish, Christian and Muslim holy places, including Temple Mount, to an international commission.

The Messiah will not come until you all make peace with the self and each other.

Hashem said 'Tell Israel the enemy is within'.

When Israel listens and returns the children to equality and to love then Israel will make some breakthroughs. When the records are put straight with God then Israel will be free, until that time comes suffering will remain due to your own co-creation.

The Rebbe does not support the fighting or the violence. He supports the children and the innocent and that is where the focus of the Jewish people should be directed.

Land and buildings are earthly reality and you were called to embrace a spiritual reality.

Abbas calls for complete Israeli withdrawal to pre-1967 lines, spelling out precise Palestinian demands for first time

October 10, 2007, 3:43 PM (GMT+02:00)

In an interview with Palestinian TV Oct. 10, Abbas demanded all of the Gaza Strip and West Bank, plus an area inside the “no man’s land” for a future Palestinian state. “We have 6,205 square kilometers on the West Bank and Gaza Strip. We want it as it is,” he said, declaring his claim was supported by UN Security Council resolutions.

"This is our vision for the Palestinian independent state with full sovereignty on its borders, water and resources."

Israeli government spokeswoman Miri Eisin declined to comment, saying she did not want to prejudice negotiations. But the Palestinian demands appear to exceed anything that Israel would be willing to offer.

Abbas stated that the coming international conference sponsored by the US, “must include the six issues that are Jerusalem, refugees, borders, settlements, water and security.”

Rabbi Reveals Name of the Messiah

Shortly before he died, one of Israel's most prominent rabbis wrote the name of the Messiah on a small note which he requested would remain sealed until now. When the note was opened, it revealed what many have known for centuries: Yehoshua, or Yeshua (Jesus), is the Messiah.

A few months before he died, one of the nation’s most prominent rabbis, Yitzhak Kaduri, supposedly wrote the name of the Messiah on a small note which he requested would remain sealed until now. When the note was unsealed, it revealed what many have known for centuries: Yehoshua, or Yeshua (Jesus), is the Messiah.
With the biblical name of Jesus, the Rabbi and kabbalist described the Messiah using six words and hinting that the initial letters form the name of the Messiah. The secret note said:
Concerning the letter abbreviation of the Messiah’s name, He will lift the people and prove that his word and law are valid.
This is I have signed in the month of mercy,
Yitzhak Kaduri
The Hebrew sentence (translated above in bold) with the hidden name of the Messiah reads: Yarim Ha’Am Veyokhiakh Shedvaro Vetorato Omdim

The initials spell the Hebrew name of Jesus, Yehoshua. Yehoshua and Yeshua are e‑ectively the same name, derived from the same Hebrew root of the word “salvation” as documented in Zechariah 6:11 and Ezra 3:2. The same priest writes in Ezra, “Yeshua son of Yozadak” while writing in Zechariah “Yehoshua son of Yohozadak.” The priest adds the holy abbreviation of God’s name, ho, in the father’s name Yozadak and in the name Yeshua.

Two things much take place in the next few years:
1. The gathering of the Two sticks/12 tribes.
2. the return of Messiah of David

Yahshua = I AM Savior

"There is a common mis-understanding amongst Christians in that they believe that the New Testament was written for Christians. This misconception withholds the truth from those who hold to this traditional view. Christians grow up to believe that the NT was only for Christians, written by Christians and teaching about the Christian Faith.

History totally refutes this - and when one starts understanding this, then the doors of one's mind will open to Truth of the Original True Faith, which Jude 3 commends Messianic believers to return to. The Tanach ('Old' Testament) in its last paragraph in the Book of Malachi, also commends us: Torah.

Malachi 4:4 "Remember the Law of Moses, My Servant, to whom at Horeb I prescribed Laws and Customs for the whole House of Israel. Know that I am going to send you Elijah the Prophet before My Day comes, that Great and Terrible Day. He shall turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and the hearts of children towards their fathers, lest I come and strike the land with a curse."

The overwhelming evidence proves that the NT was a Jewish book, written almost exclusively by Jews, who were the spiritual leaders of the lost tribes of Israel. These Israelites were made up mostly of Jewish believers who came to accept the Jewish Yahshua. At its inception, at the Jewish Feast of Shavuot (Pentecost), 50 days after His crucifixion, 3 000 Jewish believers accepted Him. This was the beginning, not as Christian believers like to believe, of the regathering, the Jewish Yahshua Movement. These Yahshua leaders were in the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem when they were "baptised in the Spirit". They were all Jews - not Christians!

Setting the record straight then, firstly, Yahshua Himself was a Jew, an Israelite, born to a Jewish mother. He was circumcised at the age of 8 days (Luke 2:21) and was consecrated on the 42nd day according to Jewish Law (Luke 2:22). He grew up in a Jewish Community and had a Bar'Mitzvah in the Jewish Temple at the age of 12, according to Jewish tradition. He astounded the learned Jewish teachers even at that young age, with His Knowledge of the Scriptures (Luke 3:47).

As an adult, He was so conspicuously a Jew, that strangers addressed Him as Rabbi' (John 1:38, 49; 3:2;26; 6:25; 20:16). He attended Synagogue Services on Sabbaths, "as His custom was" (Luke 4:16). He regularly taught in the Synagogues, "and everyone praised Him" (Luke 4:15).

He most certainly taught Judaism, as Matthew. ch. 5 testifies to. He never claimed or foresaw a 'new' religion (Matt. ch 5) and clearly claimed in Matt 5:20: "For I tell you, unless your virtue greatly surpass that of the Scribes and Pharicees, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven".

The Inscription on His Death Stake labeled Him "King of the Jews"! Even at His Death, He was buried according to Jewish custom in a Jewish Grave.

The Apostles who took this Message into the world, were Jews, teaching Judaism, with now a Jewish Messiah included! Thus, the first believers were not Christians, but Messianic Jews. The non-Jews who accepted Him, had to be brought into the Jewish Faith. The New Testament Scriptures speak of controversies, even amongst these Jewish Apostles and teachers, regarding the necessity of circumcision and the extent of the Jewish Laws which had to be kept by converts who accepted the Jewish Messiah.

Acts 24:5 "The plain truth is that we find this man (Paul) a perfect pest. He stirs up trouble among Jews the world over and is a ringleader of the Nazarene sect."

Paul admits in verse 14 "It is according to the Way that they describe as a sect, that I worship the God of my ancestors (the Hebrew patriarchs) retaining my belief in all points of the Torah (Law) and what is written in the Nevi'im (Prophets of the 'Old Testament')".

It is clear from this, that this first Messianic congregation was a 'sect' of Judaism, practising Jewish Law and custom.

Christians like to refer to the following text to prove that the early Messianic congregation of the Messiah was 'Christian'.
Acts 11:26 "It was at Antioch that the disciples were called Christians."
Well after the establishment of the Jewish Messianic Congregation on Shavuot (Pentecost), the establishment of this sect at Antioch probably was the first split away from the original Jewish Messianism to 'Christianity'. It signified the split between Jewish Messianism and non-Jewish adherents of Messianism.

Some 300 years later, Christianity would be officially instituted and recognized under the auspices of the Zeus worshipping Roman Emperor, Constantine. He had purportedly been converted to Christianity, but the same year that he convened the Council of Nicea (which officially constituted the Trinity and Sunday-Sabbath), he gave private orders for the execution of Crispus, his eldest son and for the suffocation in a hot bath, of his wife of 20 years, Faista.

A literal translation of the Hebrew version of the above quoted text (Acts 11:26, according to a publication of the Trinitarian Bible Society), clearly contradicts their English rendering and confirms the Jewishness of what they promote as the "early church"

Acts 11:26 - literal translation "..and they settled there for a complete year closely with the Qahal..." (not church or ekklesia) - refer "The True Congregation"

"... and taught Torah to many..." (English translation renders: "and they taught many people")
"... It was at Antioch that the disciples were first called Christians." (Hebrew literal '"Meshichi'im" from the root Meschiach = Messiah).(Sterns Complete Jewish Bible renders this verse "...were called Messianic."

Only someone who has been raised a Christian, can fail to recognise the Jewishness of this compilation of books known as the New Testament. Prime example - How many Christians today realise that Messiah Himself was an exemplary Jew? They simply assume and blindly accept that He was a Christian! Jews again, puppet the Christian interpreters by accusing Messiah of "having done away with the Torah (Law)!" Nothing can be further from the Truth than this! Messiah is quoted in Matthew 5:17 as stating: "Don't think that I have come to abolish the Torah or the prophets. I have come not to abolish, but to complete. Yes, indeed! I tell you, that until Heaven and earth pass away, not so much as a yud or a stroke will pass from the Torah - not until everything that must happen, has happened. So, whoever disobeyes the least of these Mitsvot (commandments) and teaches others to do so, will be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But whoever obeyes them and so teaches, will be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven." (Sterns Complete Jewish Bible)

It is only with this realisation of the Jewishness of the NT, that one can truly understand the True Message thereof.

The astonishing and all over-riding fact is that Messiah was NOT a Christian! - and never ever instituted a new non-Jewish religion! "

A Campaign Issue With Prophetic Undertones

October 31, 2008

The Trumpet

It’s difficult to imagine the outcome of America’s presidential election depending on whether or not the U.S. should relinquish control over half of Washington, D.C. Yet, that is exactly the position Israel finds itself in now that Tzipi Livni has failed in her attempt to form a new coalition government.

Livni’s Kadima party was able to secure an agreement with Labor, but its alliance with the religious-nationalist Shas party collapsed because of Livni’s plan to share control of Jerusalem with the Palestinians.

“Shas will not sell out on Jerusalem,” its chairman insisted last week after announcing that his party would not join Livni’s coalition.

Livni, who had hoped to begin the Knesset’s winter session this week as the new prime minister, was instead forced to call for early elections. She angrily lashed out at Shas for, as she sees it, attempting to derail the peace process.

“What kind of demand is this, to announce that we won’t talk about Jerusalem?” Livni asked. “Is there any leader here who can announce anything like that? After all, this means the end of negotiations, political paralysis and violence that will flood the entire region. Does [Shas Chairman Eli Yishai] want to be responsible for all that? Let him go right ahead.”

With the high-stakes general elections set for February 10, opposition leader Benjamin Netanyahu wasted little time in setting the tone for his campaign. In a speech before the Knesset earlier this week, former Prime Minister Netanyahu pledged, “We will not conduct negotiations on Jerusalem, the capital of the Jewish people for the past 3,000 years. I didn’t do it in the past and I won’t do it in the future.”

On the other side of the political fight, by rejecting Shas’s demand, as Caroline Glick wrote for the Jerusalem Post (emphasis mine),

Livni made clear that partitioning the city—that is, giving the Palestinians sovereignty over the Temple Mount and the Arab neighborhoods—is so central to her preferred foreign policy that she could not budge on the issue despite her obvious desire to take up residence in the prime minister’s office. …

Due to the centrality of Jerusalem in Livni’s failed negotiations with Shas, it is apparent that maintaining or ending sovereignty over united Jerusalem will be the central issue of the coming elections.

Now think on the significance of this prophetically significant moment! Who could have ever imagined, even five years ago, that Jerusalem’s status as the undivided capital of Israel would be the central issue in a campaign for becoming prime minister?

Yes, consider the profound significance—and remember what we have been proclaiming at theTrumpet.com for well over a decade. “Christ prophesied that He would ‘gather all nations’ to battle Him in Jerusalem,” my father wrote in November 1996, commenting on a prophecy in Zechariah 14:1-2. He continued,

Then He makes what might appear to be a strange statement. One half of Jerusalem is to be taken captive. That crisis triggers a series of events that leads to the return of Jesus Christ! One half of Jerusalem being taken captive is like the first domino to fall, leading to Christ’s return and battle against all nations in Jerusalem! It all begins and ends in Jerusalem.

He wrote that 12 years ago! And today, the central issue in the contest between Livni and Netanyahu is whether or not to divide Jerusalem. That’s how close we are getting to the trigger that sets off a rapid-fire sequence of events that will culminate in the return of the Messiah! In other words, as my father also wrote in 2001, “The current dispute over East Jerusalem is a strong sign that the Day of the Lord is almost here!”

There’s more. On his weekly Key of David television program, my father said nearly three years ago that Benjamin Netanyahu might return to power in Israel. He made that comment based on the same prophecy in Zechariah. He said half of Jerusalem is “going to be taken by force, and you need to realize that. Now, that might also indicate that the Likud, or the conservative party, will get in power.”

He also mentioned that a Hamas-dominated Palestinian insurgence, backed by Iran, would take half of Jerusalem by force. “Now it appears that the Hamas terrorists, who are really supported by Iran,” he said, “are about to get control of the Palestinians.”

Within days of making those comments, Hamas grabbed 74 of the 132 seats in the Palestinian Legislative Council through free elections.

Two months later, however, Netanyahu’s Likud party got trounced in Israel’s parliamentary elections, losing 26 of its 38 seats.

Yet, look at where we are today!

However the details play out, prophecy is sure. The violent division of Jerusalem as prophesied by Zechariah doesn’t depend on a conservative government being elected in Israel. But if Benjamin Netanyahu does return to power, as my father suggested in early 2006, we could see the Zechariah 14 crisis come to a head much more quickly.

Likud leader Binyamin Netanyahu off to a fresh start?

Energized by more than two years in opposition, Binyamin Netanyahu plans to contest the February 10, 2009 general election at the head of a remodeled Likud party and a new star-studded leadership. The new assets he is angling for include Benny Begin, Yair Shamir, Dan Meridor, Moshe Yaalon and Nathan Sharansky. Netanyahu believes that with former chief of staff Yaalon as defense minister and Meir Dagan and Gaby Ashkenazi in place as Mossad director and IDF chief, his government can cope with Iran’s nuclear challenge.
