He would not side with any of them. Plus none would want to side with him.

So what would happen if you had a hung parliament and no agreement could be made?

A Hung Parliament?

In Canada, we call it a minority government. They happen quite frequently and work much better than majority governments.

You have only two parties that actually win, or lose.

In the UK there are at least three contender parties, and sometimes two of them will temporarily ally with each other to form a majority government, as in the Lib-Lab Pact of many years ago.

A true "hung" Parliament would be when there is a very minor winner in a General Election, and no parties want to ally with each other.

Yes, it's the same with 2 parties. If no single party wins an overall majority, i.e not enough seats to carry through legislation without help from other parties.

The usual outcome here would be a coalition between 2 of the parties, which gives them enough votes to get things done.

Nick Griffin and/or any other BNP members who win a seat are completely irrelevant to this process as they will have too few seats, if any to make a blind bit of difference.

Well, you could call it political correctness. I'd call it 'everyone else in Parliament despises the BNP'. But you're quite right in that even if the BNP were to win a seat or two in Parliament, there's absolutely no way anybody would be willing to discuss entering a coalition with them.

It's irrelevant. They aren't going to be in a position to form a coalition with anyone, even if the weren't a bunch of nut jobs. It takes 326 seats to make a majority so once Clegg has allied to someone it's game over. Even if BNP won every seat they contest it wouldn't make diddly squat difference to anything regarding a hung parliament.

Are you reading-impaired?

I was just making the point that none of the other 3 major parties would ally themselves with the BNP, if the BNP won a significant number of seats, because they would view such a thing as being terminally, politically incorrect!

There will be absolutely no difference to the BNP position in a hung parliament. They have nothing to do with any coalition, they will be minority.

BNP have some funny views on taking money that isn't theirs.

The political career of the group leader of the British National Party on Calderdale Council was in question last night after he was convicted of fraudulently claiming thousands of pounds of benefits.

LOL. The OP clearly didn't. He probably doesn't know this either.

The BNP was in turmoil last night after one of its senior officials was arrested for allegedly threatening to kill party leader Nick Griffin.

Mark Collett, 29, was said to be furious at the huge sums being made by Griffin in Parliamentary expenses since being elected as an MEP for the North West last July.

It led to the far right group's publicity director being taken in for police questioning.

A spokeswoman for Humberside Police said yesterday: "We arrested a 29-yearold man last Thursday on suspicion of making threats to kill. He was interviewed and released on police bail."

Collett, who has been exposed as a racist who admired Hitler, had been lined up to stand against David Blunkett in Sheffield. But a BNP spokesman s a i d he has been suspended pending a "disciplinary hearing" after a leaked memo accused him of plotting a "palace coup".

BNP "death threat" to Bristol film-maker
Posted by Denise
A "death threat" allegedly made by BNP Wales second in command Roger Phillips has been reported to the police by Bristol anti-fascist and film-maker Mark Watson.

Mr Watson recorded a 12-minute telephone call from Phillips, which he alleges contained a number of threats, including a threat to kill. The recording was handed over to the police on Saturday. Mr Watson says the police have recorded the incident as a crime and intend to arrest Phillips.

Despite this, in a video posted on YouTube Mr Watson says that Phillips continues to contact him.

And then there is the ongoing election fraud investigation.

I know it isn't what you meant, but the idea of hanging politicians has a certain appeal to it ("hung parliament"). Not meddling in your country, just commenting on politicians in general. Good luck with yours.
