The reason they refuse to give accommodations is not because of political views, as a few seem to think, but rather because they would have to shut down the rest of the hotel for security reasons. It would cost too much.

In the end it is all about the bottom line.

why in this day and age is every country on the planet still sending delegations to New York for a conference? with all this satellite technology, video conferencing facilities etc, there's no need for the likes of Amadinnerjacket to fly to New York with his entourage, all he has to do is sit in front of the camera in his office in Tehran at the appointed time, someone in New York presses a button, amadinnerjacket then appears on the screen, he spouts his drivel, then at the appointed time someone in New York presses another button, Amadinnerjacket disappears off the screen and the President of British Equatorial West Hartlepool appears on screen to deliver his drivel. You don't actually need all these thousands of overpaid tosspots in suits in New York, Geneva, Brussels, Strasbourg and so on; the UN, NATO, EC can do most of their business through video, satallite, computers etc.
