I don't think an atheist will try to "disprove" anything.
I don't try to disprove the existence of Father Christmas, for example. I simply don't need to. One will does not dispute the existence of belief. We all believe in something or other. Belief and knowledge are not the same concepts and should not be confused. That is all.

Yeah, the guy is ridiculous. Atheists aren't all rebellious, in fact, I find most of them to be sheeple, much like the Christians who do not study the deeper tenets of their faith, most atheists do not understand the deeper theories of evolution, or the big bang, or of Cosmology and genetics in general. In other words, he should have said that most atheists are just fundamentalist Christians who haven't converted yet.

OBNOXIOUS is the answer to a question what are the atheists like, and not to the question why do they practice atheism.
