Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 962524 ![]() 05/09/2010 11:50 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | To add to my original post, I am not saying that the rap stars are knowingly in on it with the government, I think that they are unknowingly being used as part of a big mind control thing. MAYBE a couple know about it. It's not complicated -- people watch the music videos on MTV, and they copy it. If all the rappers on MTV wore purple pants then everyone in the ghetto would wear purple pants. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 807451 ![]() 05/09/2010 12:16 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Hip hop started as a group of people having fun with their own ideas and culture. They started making money with their ideas and then comes in the big corps and gov't to control the masses from their popculture/ideas. Each genre of music has gone through these cycles. My grandmother did not listen to any music, except what was played in church. She did not think it had any meaning. Here is some independent hiphop, check it out. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 962524Neither do I. WTF are you talking about, real cute and everything but thats exactly what you are doing, you have created a fantasy, there is ZERO evidence to even begin to backup your silly claim. Say what you want but dont try to turn it into something its. |

But there is SO MUCH POTENTIAL in underground rap and hip hop. There is so much KNOWLEDGE and TRUTH to some of the things that underground rappers say. Many of them do not become mainstream because they don't want to. The following songs are all by Immortal Technique. They all cover a variety of topics, from politics, to international relations, to the music industry and it's corruption, and to brainwashed corporate method of life in the 21st century, history, etc, etc. The list goes on. I will post examples: Good rap and hip hop exists, you just need to look for it. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 925291 ![]() 05/09/2010 12:48 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Here's what happened to a friend a couple of years ago. MTV had a huge contest to find singing talent. He was 1 of 2 finalists, as a result of where their judges voted and so did the general public. He had no connections on inside, was from our local area and was based on his talent and incredible voice. The deciding factor on who was final winner was not from the votes, which they made the public believe (which they told him he had all the votes as the final winner),but the music company execs wanted to interview both contestants before determining who to award the music contract to. In his interview with execs, he gave his background and all that, including how he will not sing any songs that promote anything that is immoral..drugs, guns, sex, etc. The execs said it is part of requirement for them, and many others in industry that he has no say so on whether he sings on those subjects or not, but that he must, because sex sells ...if he wanted to work for them. So, he's sitting there thinking of his wife and 2 kids, living in an apartment, not much money and with the stroke of a pen all that would change to having it all. He ended up putting the pen down and walking away from the contract, for he wouldn't compromise his morals and be a part of making the world a worse place than it already is. He's an AWESOME guy and richly blessed with a loving family and wonderful people all around him!! |
