heres how it is supposed to work=
if U dont send back any of the forms (AND EVEN IF U DO)
they still want to get MORE information.
they want whatever they can get from U.

the govt is compiling a dossier on every single person in the country.
they want ALL of our info in one spot and not to have to go to the irs/banks/drs/etc.

U are now in their 30 days cycle of calling the residence.
then there will be 30 days of home visits.
then they will stop harrassing U until next census.

did U fill out that long form?
is it called the american community survey??
my long form/acs survey asked questions like how much money do i make and what time do i leave to go to work in the morning!!

apparantly, only 4000 people each year are "RANDOMLY" chosen to receive the acs.

I have a standard answer, whether they're at the door or on the phone,

"I'm sorry, it's not a convenient time to talk now"

I'd hardly call it harassment. I returned my census survey a few weeks back... I also received a call from a census work last week to clarify if my daughter who is in college was living at home with me on April 1. I was glad to report yes. The young lady I talked too was polite, professional and very nice.

Lighten up a little bit folks.... try to be happy.... not so grouchy.

btw, I am a supporter of the tea party movement... and listen to Glen Beck everyday. I like Glen... he makes good sense.

One of these census workers came back and robbed and raped a women who lived alone.. another one posing as a census taker killed a person in a home invasion..
there could be a lot of people who are robbed raped and murdered by these part time census workers..They are only temp employees. It's crazy!

The census has takes 30 billion dollars, hundreds of thousands of workers, and four years. What an effing waste.

Tell them you're not "Bob" and that "Bob" is in the . . .um. . .hospital ...or he's in the Bahamas and he won't be home until next month. ...or he changed his number and you got his old numbber.

Or say just a min...and put the phone next to the TV and find a really annoying show for them to listen to while they wait.

I have had them endlessly harass me on the phone after I filled the form out 2xs and talked to someone they sent to my door.... anyway, i thought i would turn it into something funny. Please read...

Fuck the census. The following is a copy of the letter I just sent to the Census Bureau:

A few months back, I completed a census form and mailed it in. A few weeks later I got another form which I also completed and mailed in. A few weeks after that, I received a notice suggesting that I had not sent in a form. I called the national toll free number to complain and the representative told me there was no way to confirm whether either form was received. At that point I realized I was dealing with a bunch of fools. A week or so later, I received a third form which I tossed in the trash.

A few days after that, when I returned home I found a note stuck in my door. The notice was from the census taker explaining she would contact me later. I called the number given on the note and left a message explaining that I had already filled out two forms and I was through with the census. Several days after that I found another note from the census worker saying she would be back. I again called and left a message telling her to stay away, that I was finished with the census. However, a few days later, she showed up at my door! I told her to leave, that I was through answering census questions and she complied; she was even appropriately apologetic.

Then, just a few days ago, another census worker showed up at my home! I refused to answer any questions and explained all the problems that I had experienced. I told her to tell her boss to go to hell. She apologized and left.

For the record, I completed not one but two census questionnaires and I will do no more. Your agency is one of the most incompetent organizations I have ever heard of in my long lifetime (70 years) and you people should be ashamed of yourselves.

At any rate, please be informed that I have complied with the law and I am through with your blundering interference in my life. However, for a proper fee, I will gladly fill out as many additional forms as you desire.
