Lady Wolf User ID: 1018355 United States 06/28/2010 10:18 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This probably doesn't exactly go with this thread, but for the last two years, I've been suffering with severe insomnia. It isn't that I can't go to sleep, it's that I can't stay asleep. As soon as I start to drift off, I'm jolted awake by something and then instantly hit with severe nausea. I have to do deep breathing exercises to make the nausea subside and then try and go back to sleep. Some nights after doing this a few times, I can get to sleep, some nights I cycle like this all night, and I give up and get up. It's getting worse as whatever this is progresses. The other night, I almost had to run to the bathroom. This is nearly every night and every time I try to sleep. It does not matter if it's night time or a nap during the day. It makes no difference if I'm laying down or sitting up or reclining. I've gone to several doctors about this and they all are baffled. They keep wanting to put me on anti depression anti anxiety pills. I don't like taking pills and I don't trust big pharma, so I don't take them. It's gotten to the point now where I just stay up till I'm absolutely exhausted. I fight going to sleep now, as it's all so pointless. I should do a sleep study to test for sleep apnea, but I just don't think that's it, as my symptoms arne't really listed under sleep apnea, although at times the nausea is accompanied by my heart racing. It feels like there is something wrong with my serotonin levels or something. I've Googled my problem and can't find it anywhere online. The only thing that comes close is that disease that does not let people sleep, but nausea isn't mentioned as one of the symptoms, and there is no cure for it. It eventually kills it's victims, so I pray that I don't have that! Ugh! Anyway...didn't mean to high jack your thread OP...this thing is driving me crazy and turning me into a zombie:( Real truth is self evident... |

In fact, usually its an indication to me that sleep is right around the corner. Usually sound like short snippets of "casual conversation". Voices are always distinct, human voices. Nothing I can remember specifically. For me it feels more like "eavesdropping" on thoughts or words of other perhaps. Didn't get the feeling it was prophetic speech or anything though. Other than that I wouldn't be alarmed. When I was a child I was tormented by demons quite often at night. This activity ceased after I became a christian. Sometimes these spirits can be inherited from your parents, other times they are associated with unclean places. In all cases they are simply trying to frighten you and/or drag your soul down into hell. Should you actually want to deal with this stuff, then you will have to become a christian and put your trust in Jesus. There is no other way to "bind the strong man" as Jesus puts it. With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 882450Read the scriptural reference below and the next time you hear the voice say: If you have come in the name of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Saviour, then speak to me oh my God! Otherwise, begone from me your lying spirits by the name and power of Jesus Christ I command you! 1 Samuel 3: 1-19 1 The boy Samuel ministered before the LORD under Eli. In those days the word of the LORD was rare; there were not many visions. 2 One night Eli, whose eyes were becoming so weak that he could barely see, was lying down in his usual place. 3 The lamp of God had not yet gone out, and Samuel was lying down in the temple [a] of the LORD, where the ark of God was. 4 Then the LORD called Samuel. Samuel answered, "Here I am." 5 And he ran to Eli and said, "Here I am; you called me." But Eli said, "I did not call; go back and lie down." So he went and lay down. 6 Again the LORD called, "Samuel!" And Samuel got up and went to Eli and said, "Here I am; you called me." "My son," Eli said, "I did not call; go back and lie down." 7 Now Samuel did not yet know the LORD : The word of the LORD had not yet been revealed to him. 8 The LORD called Samuel a third time, and Samuel got up and went to Eli and said, "Here I am; you called me." Then Eli realized that the LORD was calling the boy. 9 So Eli told Samuel, "Go and lie down, and if he calls you, say, 'Speak, LORD, for your servant is listening.' " So Samuel went and lay down in his place. 10 The LORD came and stood there, calling as at the other times, "Samuel! Samuel!" Then Samuel said, "Speak, for your servant is listening." 11 And the LORD said to Samuel: "See, I am about to do something in Israel that will make the ears of everyone who hears of it tingle. 12 At that time I will carry out against Eli everything I spoke against his family—from beginning to end. 13 For I told him that I would judge his family forever because of the sin he knew about; his sons made themselves contemptible, and he failed to restrain them. 14 Therefore, I swore to the house of Eli, 'The guilt of Eli's house will never be atoned for by sacrifice or offering.' " 15 Samuel lay down until morning and then opened the doors of the house of the LORD. He was afraid to tell Eli the vision, 16 but Eli called him and said, "Samuel, my son." Samuel answered, "Here I am." 17 "What was it he said to you?" Eli asked. "Do not hide it from me. May God deal with you, be it ever so severely, if you hide from me anything he told you." 18 So Samuel told him everything, hiding nothing from him. Then Eli said, "He is the LORD; let him do what is good in his eyes." 19 The LORD was with Samuel as he grew up, and he let none of his words fall to the ground. 20 And all Israel from Dan to Beersheba recognized that Samuel was attested as a prophet of the LORD. 21 The LORD continued to appear at Shiloh, and there he revealed himself to Samuel through his word. I heard thumping after reading this post. |

herrw User ID: 1093567 United States 09/19/2010 03:53 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Honestly, I would approach these 'voices' with caution. The human mind is a wonder of biology, and is designed to find meaning and pattern even when there is none. Random, otherwise 'white' noise, can be interpreted by the mind as voices or footsteps or other things that are not there. So, maybe you are hearing real, honest to goodness voices. Maybe you're psychic. Maybe they're sounds which are just on the threshhold of audibility which are being carried to you from some distance away. Or maybe it's in your head. The thing is, it's most likely your mind making sense out of the senseless. You don't know what a sound is, so your mind assigns meaning to the sound, and interprets it as words. The reason to treat this with caution is because, if not analyzed and questioned, the mind can literally program itself into schizophrenia. Hearing voices which are not there is a common problem with individuals experiencing schizophrenic or paranoid delusions. The mind goes into overdrive analying the random nature of the universe, and pretty soon you're hearing things that aren't there, just to fill in the blank parts. Or, like I said, maybe you have some sort of strange otherworldly ability. But either way a cold, reasonable analysis will help you avoid slipping into a state of mind from which you cannot return. I'd talk to a doctor about it pronto, just to be sure. "Don't shove beans up your nose."--from a sign in my 8th grade History class. It still applies. |
