Anonymous Coward User ID: 937600 United States 05/14/2010 08:22 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm sorry, but someone did not photoshop the dates in. not on that many stacks and without distorting the pixels. Quoting: lime flavouredThe fade from the date stamp also looks authentic. It'd be a VERY elaborate hoax, if done. And how could this picture have been posted if they are dated for the 14th? I'll dig through the old thread, I guess. Only two bundles are dated, the top two in the far right column. In this picture: [link to xs.to] They are clearly all dated. You can see the stamps, but you cna't read all of them. I can Read the Dates on ALL OF THEM PLAINLY - With the UP Close Picture Also see this Article - A market analysis Discusses the rumor! You can see the stamps, but you can't read all of them. Quoting: lime flavouredThe stamps are just in different places on some of them. This is what makes the picture more legit to me. Had they used photoshop, most people would have kept the dates readable on all the photos or might have neglected the ink from the stamp being used up as they stamp these. There is a pattern fade from the stamp, and while someone could duplicate it, most people would forget to do so. |

ifSHTF.com User ID: 959943 United States 05/14/2010 08:27 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | welp, that is enough to dispel this myth for me. Delete the thread plz. What a waste of photoshop effort. Nice edit job tho. Yeah, I'm guessing they dropped the res to hide some of the imperfections. The kicker... when I opened it in photoshop and zoomed in, the pixels looked ok - not all distorted like most ppl do when they cut / paste. Someone spent a bit of time on it cropping out all the old dates, creating a new stamp and pasting it in and then fudging the opacity and even blurring various spots. Lots of effort just to have it all pissed away by posting the original. Actually, maybe trin should edit the first post and expose the FAKE in case this guy tries spreading this on other forums - maybe he's playing the market and betting against it. Anonymous Coward User ID: 937600 United States 05/14/2010 08:44 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | IF Germany Actually leaves the Euro behind and the pictures are real and the Rumor is Real.... Then what happens with the U.S. dollar valuation Against the Euro? The U.S. dollar is Only showing strength due to the Euro's decline - BUT wouldn't there be an Immediate change in valuation if there is a German mark come next week? Wouldn't the German Mark have some bearing on the U.S. dollar? In other words, we are around 84 index of dollar valuation - how FAR could it fall in just days time - with the equation of the German mark being introduced. It all may or may not happen.... but, ramifications against the dollar could be huge - all kinds of scrambling around to figure out it's value (which we know is in reality 0). |

Koala User ID: 970350 Australia 05/14/2010 08:48 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The OP or someone else has faked the "new German Mark" If you look closely you will find that the date is in the black colour and not in the green as is the ensignia next to the date. On the original it is all the same colour. Another observation is that the serial numbers are identical and in the same pile as the original photo from the "Bundesbank" even the same shadows, roof and light and angles are all the same. IT IS A FAKE - but well done, a bit like the fake Hitler Diaries back in the 80's. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 970378 Germany 05/14/2010 09:14 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | this is a fake which was debunked yesterday shortly after it appeared on german forums. the image is old and can be seen on the website of the bundesbank, look for their 50th anniversary site. the image was altered for that the banderoles with the text were altered rather professionally to fit the date of 14.05.2010 (that is in englsih date style 2010/05/14 i believe). original date was 1990 something. here is the link to the original, unaltered image: Quoting: Anonymous Coward 970313[link to www.bundesbank.de] |
