Quoting: Anonymous Coward 373696I just wanted the pictures down from the sites. This is the second set of pictures someone has lifted off the internet and used them as if those where him. The internet is not a safe place for the innocent. People need to be aware of this type of thing. Do not open any email that looks strange. You can get email from UPS, Federal Express, really just about anywhere that looks real but if it doesn't feel right just delete it. |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 287211 United States 05/18/2010 03:25 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | People need to be careful about pictures they post. One picture had my son's license plate in the picture. For that reason we wanted the pics down. People just be careful, we were fortunate that it was seen before we got harrased by the police. Several records have been made, police in NC, police in SC and FBI. Still there really isn't much they can do about it, the site that listed it is probably offshore, hell everything else is. |

One of the victims was the daughter of a police officer, not sure what ever happened but they got all the survailance footage from walmart and went after someone Im sure... Crazy... Gotta really watch your ass in todays world. Everywhere you go someone is there to try and swindle you. |

Put something small and valuable on Craigslist (like a camera) and you will soon get an E-Mail from someone offering you the money plus some additional up front but they want you to ship it overseas because they are buying it for their kid who is in Europe on a school trip. They send you a fake paypal receipt indicating that they sent you money. Nigerian Mother Fuckers! |

Fuck you, you unethical turd. ~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~ From ED TV (1999) I feel that Ed (TV) is the apotheosis of a prevailing American syndrome. Prophet User ID: 850811 United States 05/18/2010 04:11 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This EXACT thing happened to a young girl I work with (M). She and her newly married Husband both 24yrs old bought from a man who they KNEW a Ford F150 Lariat 2008 model. The Man, we will call him Sucmbag (SB) had an add on the Internet, had pics, vin#, everything. Well, M and her hubby gave the guy 2 payments of $7500. Then the guy just vanished. Unfortunately, for (SB) Miss M Daddy's a local Police officer. Well, they tracked (SB) to a near by city and arrested him. Turns out he has been doing this for years. This was his 3rd pinch for this exact scam. The police said that he has so far gotten away with over $100,000US. So, they get to court and the judge says that this is not a criminal matter this is a civil matter. After all SB says that he is the victim because it was he who was scammed by another Internet thief. Then, in Civil court Miss M could only produce one canceled check for $7500. Because the 2nd payment of $7500 he demanded in cash so he could drive to Florida to pick up the truck. So, since Miss M, even with a bank receipt showing an additional $7500 withdrawal, the provable case that (SB) received under $8000, Miss M was forced to accept a payment arrangement for $7500. Had it been over $10,000 the case would have gone a different way. Guess what now Miss M is stuck receiving $50 a month, when (SB) actually pays, till the debt is paid off. So, (SB) got off with no jail time and is using Miss M's own $7500 to pay her back the 2nd $7500 he owes her legally. Isn't the justice system great! |

You can get email from UPS, Federal Express, really just about anywhere that looks real but if it doesn't feel right just delete it. Scams like this work because people have an amazing lack of common sense. For instance, I've gotten many e-mails from "UPS" and "Fedex". Now, as a shipper/receiver, I konw that these companies will NEVER e-mail you to retreive information, or to send you to any link to "authorize" your delivery or some shit like that. The only time you will ever get an e-mail from these companies is if the sender requested they copy you in on a shipment,in which case you will already most likely know something is being sent to you. And even at that, the only e-mail you'll get is tracking information telling you where your package is currently at. Of course, not everyone knows this, so the scammers continue. There's also glaringly obvious warning signs...if the "seller" will not meet you in person, or ignores repeated requests for information, or wants any type of info from you, it's most likley a scam. I tell you I'd love to run across some of these scammers in person, I guarantee they'd never be pulling another scam again. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 954702 United States 05/18/2010 04:48 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It looks like the OP is the complete idiot here. It appears that the seller was planning on using Ebay's buyer protection program for the sale from the beginning and just snagged the OP's pics instead of taking her own pics of the actual truck she was selling. The seller was not trying to sell "The OP's truck" unless the OP is stupid enough to think that they own the only 1999 dodge ram 1500 on the planet. It's very, very common to use other people's pics online. OP is probably laughing their ass off with their OWN TRUCK, with It's own VIN .. still sitting there for sale when the police stop by to check. The seller is likely guilty of snagging the OPs pics to use for her own truck which isn't even a crime. |

The only way to get in contact was e-mail. This person plastered the truck picture with the license plate, this was my 18 yr old son's pictures. If you read the e-mail you would see that this person didn't communicate well nor did they know much about the vehicle. In the ad the truck stated it had minor damage, they say that it is in perfect condition. This person was just trying to scam someone, please be careful because there are so many out there you don't know whom to trust, just look at the senators - even they watered down the audit the fed bill. |
