Well, given the pressure of the force of that volume of water already on the hole, if you insert a pipe in to the shaft and pour hot lead into it, the weight of the lead will make it sink rapidly because of the build up of molten metal at a high rate of speed. Plus, BECAUSE the lead is liquid, and hevier, it will force itself below the "Gusher", if you will. Just my theory. Anyone else have a better idea?

I have a difficult time believing they don't have some "clamp" device that could be installed fairly easily shut this off. We could put men on the Moon 40 years ago, but using makeshift stuff to try to stop this. Something doesn't add up.

I wonder how many times this is occuring naturally in the world due to the heating up of the earths core and we just don't know about it because it isn't in a closed loop body of water.
