Oil companies drilled in swamps of Louisiana for fifty years and completely destroyed the ecosystem. On every swamp tour of the area I saw the sheen of gas on the water's surface. What did I think? You dumbfk Cajuns are selling tours of your eco-disasters!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There were no birds, no gators, nothing alive.

In fact, the 'experts' don't know because no one in history has ever been STUPID ENOUGH to fill the Gulf Of Mexico with Crude Oil!!!

We'll find out soon enough if oil particulates don't evaporate with water or not...And I am afraid we'll find out the 'experts' were wrong, again.

Igniting the oil and gas with a nuke would be bad, the afterward global burning perhaps could deplete all the earth's oxygen!

Aside from just the "blanket concern" about oil rain, there should be a concern NOW about the Benzene that evaporates and adheres to precipitation and falls to earth, contaminating the soil:

Well, I really do want to get the water tested, and like I also said, if it is oil, Id like to see if the local University would like to test the frogs and tadpoles.

No I had never seen the rainbow sheen on the pond before.

And like I said, it seemed odd, because the only water in the pond, I knew for a fact, came from the recent rain.

But just like the original day, that it was there, I saw it just after the rain, then it was gone by the next day.

The same thing now.

So I think I will wait, until we get another good rain, which shouldnt be very long from now. This is SE Louisiana. And get a sample right after the rain. So it wont be a wasted effort.

The pond is a natural pond, and very healthy, full of fish and minnows, frogs, duckweed, and other aquatic plants. Things that could clean a slight amount of oil up quickly.

I will let you all know, though when I find out something solid.

I will also try to find something large to put out and attempt to collect some rain water, to see if it contains anything. Nothing at the moment, we tend to keep anything that holds standing water empty around here, because the mosquitos are so bad. The pond is no big deal because all the larva get eaten up.

Oil would not evaporate and come down thats impossible. However that if real is strange. Could the natural gas escaping into the atmosphere come down with the rain? I know it seems far fetched buuuutttt........

Personally, I think the Obama Administration should be put in jail NOW ... along with the CEO's of British Petroleum. This crap has been going on since April 20th. IT IS PRETTY CLEAR THAT OBAMA AND BP DO NOT WANT TO FIX IT YET. I don't know, maybe he gets orders from the Rothschild family who owns British Petroleum. Our pond has a tendency to get a rainbow slick on top after it has been dried up or depleted.

I'd like to see it better. If you can ... please fill up a zip lock bag and hold it up to the light and snap a pic of it.

wait till you find out about the thousands of gallons of oil hiding under the gulf surface. They have been spraying the dispersant on it to get it to sink below the surface to hide the damage from the public. This shit is going to sit under water with no sun light and take forever to break down. it actually would have been better to let it rise and break down in the sun light. this is an epic can of worms.

What does the pond smell like? Is it different? Does it smell sweet? Benzene has a sweet smell. Dangerous stuff.

Toluene smells like paint thinner. Also bad quite obviously.

Great, so what happens when all of that Methane and other toxic gas gets carried 100M+ Inland? Death? I believe this is part of the world population reduction plan..i hope not.
