Look at 8 years of fucking Bush...Look where tht got us..

Be honest, I am not defending Obama at all but the problems Obama is now dealing with were started by Bush and the Republicans...

It is time for an overhaul...Tea Party is right there..

But they let themselves get infiltrated by the same govt spooks that got us here in the first place..They have been brainwashed by Glenn Beck, Fox News, the republicans and Alex Jones

Tea partiers support Sarah Palin, enough said..Drill, Baby, Drill...

One last thought before bed...

The Tea Party started with Ron Paul, which was a response to Bush. I think most Tea Partiers were not happy with Bush.

As for Palin and Republican infiltration, it's a real risk and it might ruin the Tea Party movement. Palin drafted herself as leader (helped by Fox News). It was definitely not an organic Tea Party idea to include Palin. Hopefully, she falls by the wayside.

The Tea Party will only succeed in the long run if it is able to support its own candidates, like Rand. That's why both major parties want the Tea Party dead and for Rand to fail. He is a danger to their status quo system, and if he succeeds, it will strengthen the resolve of the Tea Party to push more candidates in more races.

Well, I do discriminate. Just not on race, sex, creed, etc.

But then all human beings discriminate. It is a basic function of making decisions.

As for your definition of discriminate, you could just as easily flip it and say the government discriminates by taking money from one person and giving it to another. Or protecting one industry or company and not another. Or preferring one immigrant group or another. Or making policies favorable to one race or another. I think if you look at modern America, you will find most of the discrimination that exists is both instutionalized and condoned by the government.

As for paying taxes, it is not a matter of being mean to the poor, it is a matter of game theory. Do you disagree that if everybody votes and some people receive and some people pay, eventually the receivers will move in politicians that expand the number of receivers and take more from the payers? I don't see any other way it plays out, and believe me, as I am sensitive to your calls of discrimination, I have thought through the different scenarions quite a bit.

In any case, this has nothing to do with Rand Paul. Now I am just vocalizing my own political prejudices, so I'll leave it at that. More importantly, I need catch a few Z's before morning, so good night to you...

In my opinion, the govt needs a major overhaul, period..

That means a new way of doing things...

I think everyone should have a right to vote, no matter what..

I do think there are far too many govt handouts but also believe some people need a little help..I dont mind helping out people as long as they are trying, its the ones that arent trying. The ones who sit at home and depend on their checks, your right, shouldnt have a vote..

We pay axes in every facet of life, not only on tax day...

We pay taxes every time we go to the store, gas station, house, car, everything...We are all tax paying Americans and should have the right to vote...Not tht I think anyone is worth voting for..But it is my right...

I am a landscaper/hardscaper and only make $30,000/yr..I have 2 kids and do receive tax breaks and dont have to pay "income tax", but I do pay many taxes, social security, ect.. I dont receive govt benefits and take care of my family with no help...

So your saying I shouldnt have the right to vote because I dont "pay" federal income tax??

No, you do pay taxes. I'm not sure how you would structure such a law, and it might be impossible with so many different layers of taxes. I was just supporting the principle of the idea that the people who are voting on spending taxpayer money should be taxpayers. But then, I think the whole tax system needs to be massively revamped. But I really need to go to bed, so that can of worms will have to wait. Have a good evening. It was good debating with you.

I'm a Tea Partier. There are people better versed in the underlying philosophy than myself, no doubt, but seeing as the Rand haters are out in full force on GLP, I welcome you to tell me your complaints about his politics, and I will dismantle your arguments piece by piece.

Why will he not support Israel? Is Rand Paul as anti-Semitic as his father, or is he worse?

Mr. Frothingslosh,

You are spot on. Unfortunately, the system is beyond repair.

The original tea party has been hijacked by neocons, who are the same as the neodems.

The federalization of education standards brings us to the poor, mis-informed perspectives haunting your thread.

This is intentionally designed by those who pull all parties' strings... as is the welfare boom and the banking fraud and the tax code and the currency valuation in between.

There is no turning back from the litmus of: dumbing-down, confuse, divide and conquer strategy employed by the oligarchs.

People will line up for jobs which will soon be controlled by over-regulation and eventually corporate ownership (consolidation). That corporation is the US Corporation. It will be a new communist machine and will be part of a global vision of control.

Though it will still be called America, that nation will have a very different type of citizen with a very different view of itself and it's own national pride within two generations.

The people will be begging to play an important role and will support it as they pawn liberty for security. Only the fed will have the power to manage the job-lines in such a war-time economic downturn. The economy's upturn is already strategized using controls on every level.

That war will begin this year (and will spark a declaration by early next year or sooner).

By then, yours will be one of many strained voices in a prison full of patriotic whisperers rotting without rights... or perhaps you will get in line and shut-up.

The Dr. and his son (also a Dr.), and their true followers will not be allowed at any cost to be heard or understood (through the tools of mis-education & the media)... just as the Dr. was minimized through all primary debates despite winning every single one (by polling)in 2007.

His message is for a Republic. There can be no republic without free, educated men.

You are sorely outnumbered my friend.

Your kind's only hope is to find the nation within the nation and adopt and re-build their sovereignty as theirs is not a republic but could be a hybrid that the great spirit will protect... philosophically, and spiritually.

It is a frail solution, but prophesied by that very nation.

Rand and Ron are solid. I ate BBQ with them and 20 of their family members during a relief effort / auction. The venue was that of mixed race with a very knowledgeable and curious atmosphere.

The boys are a day late (actually 98 years) and a dollar short (especially with the new corporate campaign funding legislation).

God Bless the Republic!

I went to a Tea Party once. It looked like a Klan rally. All these white people with signs that made Obama look like some '' Jigaboo'' and the few black people that were there were skidish and in the way back away from the rest of it. It doesn't shock me at all Rand Paul said this. He may very well believe it, but this is dog whistle politics to his supporters who want to '' Take their country back''. On a ideological front, the people have spoken, the people want the fed govt to stop discrimination in workplaces or places of buisness. I hate Tea Partiers badly.

Sir, you are a liar. I have been to several Tea Parties and have never seen anything like this. Care to share some photos of your run-ins with the Grand Wizards of the Tea Party?

How can any self respecting libertarian still attend and encourage tea parties?
