Oil and gas are billowing out of a depression in the seafloor where the BOP used to be at an exponentially greater rate than anything seen before. My theory: The well consisted of the casing with the drill pipe inside it. The sand and rocks that turned the gusher into a giant sandblaster that blew out holes in the riser pipe at the kinks was coming from the walls of the well that the cement between the casing and the wall was supposed to protect. Therefore, the hole has been getting bigger and bigger and now it’s like a volcano vent with the piping inside it probably a twisted mess. I'm on a dial-up connection - so not able to see the streaming video the way others are. I, too, wondered about them just looping old video. I thought yesterdays video footage looked worse than the day before. But - the lens on the camera had oil spots all over it - then all of a sudden a couple hours later it didn't. I am assuming they have more than one robot on the sea floor capturing video. If not, then how did the oil suddenly get cleaned off the lens? There were a few times yesterday when it looked as if I was seeing the same frames that I had seen earlier. I can't prove it - but that was the impression I had. |
