LA NINA IS HERE, TOXIC RAIN COULD REACH AS FAR AS OHIO AND PENN....
It is pretty radically bad, that much has become fairly clear. Current underground conversations are converging on fairly large estimates of flow from this Oil Volcano. We may have a Exxon-Valdez spill each and every day going on.

But this is not just tanker oil. This is a hot geyser of natural gas and a whole complex of 200+ hydrocarbons with a lot of light factions (more fluid, more gaseous) flowing out a river of highly toxic chemicals and fumes which are killing everything in its path in a 'bathtub". The Gulf is basically enclosed for the most part and the materials in the lower depths will swirl around and around for a long long time. BP may be laying a gigantic petro Turd which is solidifying and may hang in the Gulf for a very long time.

Imagine going to a concert and some one comes in on stage a lays a turd on stage. Then the audience quickly discover that a turd is under everyone's seat. That is kind of like the situation into which we have suddenly awakened.

At the same time, the Gulf is warming up from the Oil Volcano and the oil with radically reduce the reflectivity of the water which will cause the Gulf to absorb a lot more heat from the Summer Sun. This will serve to rise up a major pillar of oil fumes and water vapor over the Gulf at the front end of hurricane season. This pillar will draw Atlantic tropical storm fronts like a bee to honey. La Nina in the Pacific will strengthen the potential for hurricane formation in the Gulf.

Take a Katrina hurricane, heck even a lot weaker one, barreling into the Gulf. It will pick up the sheen, goo, toxic chemicals, gases, the dissolved methane in the water, and all, maybe some dead fishermen as well, and mix it well with huge amounts of water and broadcast it as a driving shit storm up the central U.S., to even as far as Ohio and Pennsylvania, coating many a city with brown goo. The next hurricane could come barreling into the Gulf through western Cuba and turn on a dime under the influence of the hot oil slicks to hit northern Florida before barreling up the Atlantic seaboard to paint old Dixie brown. If we are really unlucky with a vigorous hurricane season this year, the same will happen to Texas and perhaps the northern Gulf coast a couple more times before the end of the year. Or think about the slick moving up the Gulf Stream and a tropical storm front pushing it onto the Carolinas, Virginia, heck, even Maine.
And, the beaches and fisheries of Europe could eventually be faced with warding off this noxious mess.Through all of this, A HUGE PORTION OF THE HEAVIER PORTION IS LIKELY TO REMAIN NEAR THE BOTTOM FOR A LONG TIME...constantly seeping out contamination into what were once the most fertile fisheries in the Western Hemisphere.

At the moment BP appears to have its eyes fixed on drilling a hole into the hole from well over ten thousand feet way, hoping to hit the hole and then force in enough concrete and other fillers to seal the hole. All this blind with robotic derring-do to hit a virtual straw from well over two miles away. . Anybody want to take the bet? If so, I have serious money for the don't come line.

Others have suggested taking a nuclear bomb and blowing the hole up. The hope is to cause it to collapse somewhat and heave so much bottom material over the top of the hole that it gets sealed up. Since the rock will become so pulverized and fractured, it is very difficult to "believe" that this will necessarily work. YOU COULD JUST CREATE A BIGGER SEEP COMPLEX which is even harder to plug.

If you haven't watched Disney's classic, "The Sorcerer's Apprentice", you really ought to. The Socerer's Apprentice was playing with powers far beyond his ken and everything he did to stop the actions he had initiated only made the situation worse.

In the end, we have not a clue how or when this problem gets solved.

The capping is not likely to happen before August, which is plenty of time for a couple of hurricanes. Pray, pray, pray, for a long delayed season. (sing this to the tune of Magic Man)

Meanwhile the seep of poisonous gases through the Gulf make some portions at sea and near the shore line inhabitable for those who enjoy living. Right now! Unless you are wearing a toxic hazmat suit and your own supply of oxygen, you probably should not be around the goo for more than a few minutes.

STAY AWAY FROM IT.

This is BP's Turd. MAKE SURE YOU INSIST THEY PAY FOR THE WHOLE FULL MONTE OF THE IMPACT..

P.S. BP is playing fast, loose, and aloof on all of this in a state of thinly disguised English stiff upper out-of-touch-lip As is the White House. They all have mechanics who know how to manufacture "gestures". Beyond the posing, I strongly smell people who simply do not understand what is transpiring before their faces. The top dogs are surrounded by a sychophancy who feed them horse shit sandwiches because none of them have enough imagination and knowledge to undertake an aggressive solution. As I keep suggesting, immediately place the USN in charge. It is full of engineering talent and mega-machine capabiltities. Their huge ships can pump enormous volumes of water and they have endless amounts of nuclear energy to accomplish the task. Let them tow in the surplus tanker fleet and fill them with oil.

Good Luck! I am pretty sure you are going to need it.

Yeah, I don't know why our government doesn't say fuck you very much to BP for ruining our gulf and kick them out of the way for the navy to fix it. Then, of course, they could send them the bill after it's fixed.

BULLETIN ITEM: BP's Turd: The Ecocide In The Gulf

MWM: May I recommend tuning into the Youra site which hangs out on the Olympic Peninsula in NW Washington State. He is focusing really hard on the Oil Volcano and the "Wizard of Blather" which he calls BP. He is developing visually oriented material and good technical sources. He expects a lot of damage and is trying to create a fund-raising program to help recovery and protection of victims, including the critters. BP's last shot is their attempt to bury the hole next week. If that doesn't work, and there seems to be fairly well informed skepticism that it will because of the volume and pressures of the volcano, the scene is truly grim. Keep in mind that this now looks like a Valdez quantity PER DAY (one Valdez cost billions of dollars and ruined a large portion of the coasts of Alaska's islands, there is still tar on the rocks decades later and Exxon still refuses to pay its entire debt on it). Dan is also pointing to the cloud of methane (natural gas) which is forming invisibly over the gulf which contains hydrogen sulfides or sulfates or whatever and which none of the crazy baboons who pretend to control things are talking about or warning people about.. These gases are heavy gases and disperse more horizontally than vertically and will linger for considerable periods of time, for years in the atmosphere. In the last 30 days alone it is likely that BP has destroyed the next five years of projected abatement of greenhouse gases. But that is insignificant to the amount of poisonous gas which is already seeping inland. The prospect that a wave of migration may have to begin at any moment should be considered a definite possibility. In fact, if you have common sense you will get off the coast now. If you stay you should obtain an emergency oxygen bottle with a high quality face mask. We don't want to be alarmist but this is too serious NOT to speculate on the worst case scenario. Get ready for the worst and be relieved if the capping happens next week. And even if that is good, remember that the poisonous ecocide will persist in high danger for months and the enviro damage for at least a decade. Some after effects will persist for many decades. BP's posture that this can be contained and dealt with is a preposterously sick joke. Most remarkably, the Web-bots predicted fairly strongly that a massive multi-state migration was in the works for 2010. They began predicting this as I recall in late 2009. I decided I didn't want to go there and I discounted that it would be caused by a tectonic earth event. Frankly I thought it was crazy. We may both be right and it may be happening right now in the beginning stages.

Michael,

Are you still in Black Canyon? I think we are all going to be a 'black canyon' shortly, with this monster arising from the 'hole to hell' 50 mi. off New Orleans.

I am glad to see you applying your brain power/spirit to charting possible courses for the monster.

You're the word guy. I'm the pictures guy. Here is my latest [link to www.youtube.com]

After we did Solar Alcohol, you'll remember I did the Alcohol Distillers Manual for the distillery group in San Antonio. What I learned about the distilling process applies to alcohol and oil and what I am seeing going on in the Gulf is scary. The pressures of the 5000 feet of water about the hole is a giant fractionating tower and cracking column doing things to those chemicals that the petro industry and scientific community cannot even image, do not have experience with and can only guess at. The media have their cameras trained on the goo balls and rainbow colors on the surface. The real monsters can't be seen. The gigantic blob forming on the seabed and suspended in the 1 mile up to the surface will never be seen. It will never float. The most potentially deadly monster in the near term in the unseen cloud of gases forming over the gulf. Some of the nastiest, most toxic chemicals have boiling points at 104 degrees at sea level atmospheric pressure. What are the pressures at the hell hole? I can't even guess.

All our previous experience with oil drips, leaks, spills, etc., are with events on top of the water. Even now I noticed your link to a video about the TV station in Florida showing the projection of the visible oil slick to go around the Keys and up and coast. I saw one of your comments about the insanity of sending human beings out onto the water in boats to try to collect the oil blobs on the surface. I feel so sad for those people. One was a pregnant woman. I can't even let myself think about the effects on the little spirit in her womb.

This monster ascending out of the hell hole is so far beyond our collective human experience of oil floating on top of water, that we just don't get it, can't get it. The words "spill" and "leak" are so completely inadequate, but the media reports and copy desk people, just don't know another word. I think the best description for mass media consumption is "Blowout", because it comes out of the oil industry as a descriptor for a "well head out-of-control", which is what this is. Where even that falls short, is that it refers to "gushers" mostly on land. In the past half century we haven't had many blowouts, because of the widespread and fairly successful use of BOP blowout preventers. This blowout from hell at 5,000 down with a failed BOP is incomprehensible.

I like reading about your scenarios of what may/can happen with the pressures at work on the blow hole. That is pretty scary stuff. If the blast from hell comes blowing through a collapses drill column, it will make all this speculation of how many barrels per day very irrelevant, very fast, and with catastrophic consequences.

I have projections for that unnoticed gas cloud forming over the Gulf that I hesitate to put into print. Tar balls floating up on coast is one thing. A gas cloud blown up the Mississippi valley and over the easter seaboard is something else.

The potential devastating magnitude of what is at work here is worse than the Hollywood movies with space aliens knocking out a town.

I was amused by Obama and Calderon at the WH bash talking about people crossing boards. I think the country with potentially the biggest border problem could be Canada and Mexicans and Americans try to get as far away from that Devil's Cauldron brewing in the Gulf. That body of water is really very enclosed. It just keeps circulating around and around. Yes, there is a entrance/release value north and south of Cuba, but mostly it is contained. When I look at the current flow, I see Cuba directly in its path.

You and I were on a mission to spread the gospel of solar alcohol 30 years (Solar Alcohol: 1979). I don't feel like I am on any mission now, other than sharing a few thoughts from a humble observer, standing along side the road of history, watching the unfolding of the incredible event that I can't even believe is happening. Accidents and catastrophes have always seemed like local things, more contained. This thing is so inconceivably gigantic. Previously, these disasters have been limited in time. A tsunami hits, lives are damaged and people rebuild. This thing has no end. It is like a tsunami hitting every day for I don't know how long. That blob at the bottom of the Gulf is going to continue for a long, long time, causing future havoc, many years after the TV camera crews have finished following the tar balls washing ashore at some far off place on the planet.

Then there is the GAS that's at 135,000 PSI delivered at port pre- expansion. One thing is for certain, we will not be told the ratio in the atmosphere, we shall only experience the contact effect. Imagine continued exposure to Hydrogen Sulphate and Benzene alone. There are many other lethal compounds as well blending with our life supporting oxygen ( as our folage decreases ). Does anyone find anything about the images in this commercial at all pertinent to the potential consequences of the BP event? I could be out in left field, but the first time I saw this commercial, I immediately drew the connection to the oil volcano......The color, the claim of 97% coverage, and the last scene shows the sheets spreading to the sea--all eerily similar IMO. Also, isn't that an oil barge in the foreground on the MISSISSIPPI of all rivers?

I could be out in left field, but the first time I saw this commercial, I immediately drew the connection to the oil volcano......The color, the claim of 97% coverage, and the last scene shows the sheets spreading to the sea--all eerily similar IMO. Also, isn't that an oil barge in the foreground on the MISSISSIPPI of all rivers?

You better watch where you step. That BP Turd is quicker than an Oiled Hurricane through the chicken shed.

This blowout from hell at 5,000 down with a failed BOP is incomprehensible. ...
