This will effect every place in our country that gets rain from hurricanes -- that means the Texas Hill Country (Austin, Houston, San Antonio), out by Big Bend to some degree, all the Gulf States, the Easter Seaboard, and once the oil and dispersant (what you did not think they would not spray the Atlantic with Corexit, too?) moves around to Britain and Europe, then this toxin will evaporate up and rain down on Europe and Britain.

This is a global emergency involving much than just the Gulf States.

The Gulf is a breeding ground for so many of the life forms that inhabit the Atlantic. It is pretty much a goner. That means the Atlantic may also be pretty much a goner.

Please, everyone, get involved and call BP and tell them to stop using Corexit. Call your state's attorney generals and ask them to file an injunction to stop the use of Corexit.

I wish they would let me. Some of the shots they are calling are just dumb. I guess they have to get all the stupid stuff out of the way first before they really get to the technical ideas that might actually work.

My first plan of attack would be shoving some drill pipe into the well. I know there is already drill pipe in it but they could easily fit more in the well. If they can get drill pipe in the hole, say maybe a 2000' at least or more if possible, then perform the top kill again. The original top kill they attempted failed simply because as they were feeding the heavy mud to the BOP's which was getting washed out. But even though it was washing it out, it did slow the flow down. If that slowed it down, then getting down deeper so that it would actually supply some head pressure (hydrostatic pressure) I know it can be killed.

Just for reference. If they had 12.0 mud in the riser before displacing it to sea water the hydrostatic pressure at 2000 feet below the BOP's would have been 4368 psi. Thats a total of 7000 feet of head pressure. Now, there's no more riser but the water depth at 5000 feet still accounts for 2223 psi of hydrostatic pressure. If they can get 2000 feet of drill pipe in the hole and pump 21.0 pound mud then the total psi of sea water and the 2000 foot column of mud would be equal to 4407 psi of hydrostatic pressure. Slightly over balanced. That should stop the flow. If not they could increase the weight of the mud. Or if they can get even deeper than thats more hydrostaic (the deeper you go the more hydrostatic increases). Either way, if they would do this, that would either kill the well, or make the flow so minimal they would be able to perform a BOP swap out.


The idea they had of pumping it into the BOP's and hoping it was going to fall into a flowing well was ridiculous.

the pipe that is in there is bent and broken in multiple places

the oil/gas and other stuff is blasting into the surrounding strata and eroding the seabed in multiple places

cracks turning up everywhere

they drilled into a batholith
