predicted in Germany: on sunday minus 15 - 20 degrees in the eastern part of Germany from Frankfurt / Main to the polish border.
I saw a report on TV yesterday evening predicting the cold to get worse than that and to move south too.
I am heating on gas and since our gas from russia is already reduced I am going to buy an electro heater this afternoon.

I have always said that this is not a matter of "if" but when.

This is now coming close, if the following statement is correct, then the trigger event is about to happen.

Point #3 Bank Of America and Compass Bank managers (probably all other U.S. banks too) have been instructing their employees in the last few weeks on how to respond to customer demands in the event of a collapse of the U.S. economy - specifically telling the employees that only agents from the Department Of Homeland Security will have authority to decide what belongings customers may have from their safe deposit boxes - and that precious metals and other valuables will not be released to U.S. citizens. The bank employees have been strictly prohibited from revealing the banks’ new "guidelines" to anyone. (however, employees have been talking to friends and family)

I don´t understand this language. Does it mean that there is no work left, or that he will be already as a soul in the after(real :-))life, or that he is here but just don´t feel like going to work ?

the UK is supposedly going to be hit by very cold weather coming in from russia on Thursday.

Very litle gas comes into the UK at the moment from foreign countries, but what does come in is mainly from Norway. It is predicted that in years to come, as more gas comes into the UK from foreign fields, Russia will start to provide more gas to the UK, but at the moment the Russian gas price rises dont really affect the UK.

Gaiaman said he wouldn't come back until certain events had happened, i think he won't be back until March at the earliest.

Eastern Europe remained in the grip of extreme cold temperatures, with five people freezing to death in Moscow overnight and Russian authorities struggling to keep ageing heating systems operational across the country.

The bone-numbing Siberian weather system spread through Russia, Scandinavia, the Baltic states and Poland into northern and eastern Turkey.

Temperatures in Moscow eased slightly from earlier in the week, rising on Saturday to minus 23 degrees Celsius (minus nine degrees Fahrenheit) in the city.

But high winds meant the relative "warming" was almost imperceptible and temperatures were again expected to drop come Monday.

The latest five deaths announced by Moscow's medical emergency service brought to at least 76 the number of people killed in Russia's lethal deep freeze of the last week.

A further eight people died in neighbouring Ukraine, bringing to 15 the total number of registered deaths there caused by the current freeze.

Homeless people continued to have special dispensation to huddle in Moscow's metro station entrances, while extra diesel-driven buses were laid on as the cold snapped trolley bus cables.

Pundits continued to speculate on how long Moscow's ageing heating system would be able to cope, after a warning by the head of the UES electricity monopoly, Anatoly Chubais, that it was working at its limits.

Amid disruption to traffic, emergency services had to dig out three people whose car became completely buried by snow on the Moscow-Volgograd road near Voronezh, Interfax said late Friday.

Scandinavia meanwhile was buffeted by heavy snow, gusty winds and freezing cold, with temperatures reaching as low as minus 42.6 C (minus 44.7 F) in the far north.

Though Scandinavia is generally well prepared for such conditions, there was substantial disruption to air, road, ferry and rail traffic.

Cancelled flights forced Norwegian royals attending the christening of the son of Denmark's Princess Mary and Crown Prince Frederik to catch an overnight train from Oslo to Copenhagen.

In Poland, violent snowstorms cut off electricity supplies to several villages in the northeast as weather forecasters predicted temperatures would reach as low as minus 25 C (minus 13 F).

With 123 deaths in Poland since October attributed to cold weather, shelters have been set up and police have stepped up checks on squats and isolated cabins.

In Estonia, where the mercury sat at minus 33 C Saturday, postal services were suspended in the southeast and the deaths of four people were linked to the extreme cold.

An elderly man collapsed and died of shock after partly undressing and being doused with water during an outdoor Christian Orthodox ceremony in the town of Narva, doctors said.

Meanwhile in Turkey, over 3,600 villages in the north and east were effectively cut off from the outside world, the Anatolia news agency said.

Rescuers struggled to force a way through to a village in the southern province of Kahramanmaras, where heavy snow had prevented a woman from getting to the nearest hospital to give birth.

In the eastern province of Bitlis an avalanche swept a bus into a river, killing eight people and injuring 15 others, Anatolia said.

In several countries injuries and deaths were caused as residents struggled to heat their homes with whatever means lay to hand.

Eleven residents were injured when a gas cylinder exploded in a housing block in the west Siberian city of Yekaterinburg, the Interfax news agency said.

In Lithuania about 100 household fires in recent days were blamed on failures in heating appliances and several vehicles were gutted by fires lit by drivers trying to warm up their motors.

In Turkey two people were found dead and 11 others were hospitalised due to carbon monoxide poisoning caused by defective ovens, the Anatolia agency said.

Germany appeared to be faring better, with no deaths reported due to the cold, as forecasters said temperatures would reach as low as minus 10 C on Sunday and minus 20 C next weekend.

That contrasted with temperatures in Russia's Volga region and in northwest Russia that were expected to remain as low as minus 40 Celsius (minus 40 Fahrenheit).

Russian federal officials had ordered the dispatch of emergency fuel supplies to boost supplies in several regions, including 60,000 tonnes of heavy fuel oil to be sent to Saint Petersburg and nearly 400,000 tonnes of coal to the Russian Far East, the Kommersant newspaper said.

Just a little update on Gaia Man's thingo for Australia - I can't remember word for word but he made comment on Australia Burning.....I accidentally deleted the document I'd pasted the Australia prediction in and am not wading through all the early crap in this thread.

We have a bushfire season every year. This year it was said on the news last night that the southern states were burning. We've also had record hot temperatures in all states this summer.

There are bushfires in Western Australia, South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales and Tasmania.

They are not yet as bad as they could be - but homes have been lost - as yet no lives.

Gaia man also said about the young men fighting - Any Australian's monitoring this thread can correct me - but it has been mentioned recently about compulsory national service again - and not only regular firey's are fighting the battle of the blaze - but so are the volunteer fire fighters.

BANK OF AMERICA & COMPASS BANK MANAGERS WERE TOLD HOMELAND SECURITY WILL CONFISCATE SAFE DEPOSIT BOXES

While all the other points I mentioned in a previous post are fairly well documented and discussed elsewhere on the Internet, the bank information I reported is not. This information is from my own experience and research. I discovered the disturbing news quite by accident - and by virtue of its importance, I decided to post my findings here and on a few other forums.

What did I hear?

A family member from Irvine, CA (who’s a branch manager at Bank of America) told us two weeks ago that her bank held a "workshop" where the last two days were dedicated to discussing their bank’s new security measures. During these last two days, the workshop included members from the Homeland Security Office who instructed them on how to field calls from customers and what they are to tell them in the event of a national disaster. She said they were told how only agents from Homeland Security (during such an event) would be in charge of opening safe deposit boxes and determining what items would be given to bank customers.

At this point they were told that no weapons, cash, gold, or silver will be allowed to leave the bank - only various paperwork will be given to its owners. After discussing the matter with them at length, she and the other employees were then told not to discuss the subject with anyone.

The family member has since given her notice to quit the bank.

I found the news alarming and decided to find out more myself. On a trip to my bank here in Houston, I remarked to a young bank employee (who’s new there), "well I guess you’ve been told all that stuff by the manager and the Homeland Security about what to tell your customers" - and to my amazement, the young woman came right out and said yes she’d been through all that, then whispered to me across the counter, "but we’re not supposed to talk about - I could lose my job."

Why haven’t you heard more about this?

First of all, since maybe only banks’ upper management is privy to the new "rules", the information doesn’t trickle down so easily.

Also keep in mind that employees have been told NOT to say anything about this, that it’s a matter of National Security (with an allusion toward arrest if they do). They face possibly losing their job too. Another reason is that bank employees may not think it’s important, or they believe they’re a unique part of the effort towards curtailing "terrorism" and helping America’s internal defenses.

It is also important to realize that not everyone’s a writer, or Internet savvy - even if the employees moved beyond their banks’ warnings & constraints, most people don’t know how to get their experience published on the Web in the public domain - it’s a mystery they are not familiar with so you never hear their story.

How to get the informadont_use_thisf:

Visit your bank, ask a few well-worded questions, being careful not to arouse suspicion - if that doesn’t work, talk to friends and other family members - maybe they’ve heard something - or as a last resort, just point blank call the bank manager in private and demand to know what’s all this business with the Homeland Security deciding what I can have from my safe deposit box - tell me now or I’ll close my account today.

I’ll bet if you put forth the effort you’ll get the answers you want.

What should you do with this information?

I’m not trying to "scare" anyone - just providing some news I think is relevant to Americans. Each must find his way through this dark forest - you will do with this information what best suits you and your loved ones - me personally, I see this as another indicator of how the criminals in charge over our lives intend to fleece U.S. citizens completely then dispose of them as only refuse.

Be prepared.

What is the problem? In the event of a big national disaster, big terror attack, war or economic crisis a bank is not a good place for valuable objects. That’s not new. That has happen many times in the past and it will happen in the future. When you expect something real bad don’t let the bank handel your finances.
