" World-famous pianist Lang Lang, who is the first Chinese pianist to have played in some of the most famous concert halls around the world, is certainly not often upstaged and especially not by a five year old, but that is just what Li Muzi managed as she played piano with the fantastic Lang. Although the youngster has only been playing the piano for a year, she proved a crowd favourite. The romantic tune they played on a white piano heralded in the new age and as they did so, performers managed to gather together around the instrument to form a dove, which then created the illusion that it was flying. In a dazzling performance of 1,000 acrobats who wore light bulbs which shone in different colours as they formed a replica of the Bird's Nest Stadium. A huge globe that appeared out of the stadium ground then introduced the motto of the games: 'One World One Dream." [link to www.monstersandcritics.com] |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 481367 United States 08/08/2008 09:03 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The piano player just finished. If you are watching, the 2,000+ lighted performers circled, first forming a dove, then, double-decked formed the "Bird's Nest" (Olympic Stadium). The finale had the lighted performers turning their suit lights off and on and moving away from the piano player in the center. The overall effect, from a bird's eye view, was that The piano player was the "Eye". Those watching, do you agree? That the finale form created around the piano player was an "Eye". |

The "Bird's Nest" is built with a grid of steel beams. This view makes it look exactly like an eye where the structure of the bird nest is the iris of the eye and the field in the pupil. Are you able to tune in into dates or time frames? We are living in interesting times ;) Something about August 14th? Or big changes till October/November? Or would you say, what many of us will experience in those timeframes, is more (important) on an individual, private level? All the time, when tensions increase in the world, i can't see it clearly, because private tensions then rise too. Greetings franz_liszt |

I remembered that too when I read in the news a few countries had wanted to boycott the Beijing Olympics because of Tibet, or avoid the opening ceremony because of the pollution. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 429753 United States 08/10/2008 03:11 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The piano player's false tune was one of world peace. Even as the world came together for the Olympics, Georgia kicked off the battle for Ossetia and people were already dying. Of course the false tune theme could be China's brand of "world peace" so long as it doesn't interfere with their national interests (i.e. darfour, Tibet, etc.) |

The other had the voice. So in a last-minute move demanded by one of China's highest officials, the two were put together for the Olympic opening ceremony, with one lip-synching "Ode to the Motherland" over the other's singing.
