Turkey is a NATO member. According to NATO treaty an agressive act against any member is considered and agressive act against all NATO members.

I think Erdogan has abandoned Turkey's integration into the EU and wants out of NATO...in order to restore an Ottoman-like state. This business with Israel is just an means to an end.

What this is about is Turkey attempting to assert itself as a regional, Islamic power. For public consumption, Syria will cheer Turkey on, but privately is very concerned. Memories are long in that region.

When the smoke clears, Turkey is going to be left holding the bag and surrounded by hostile states, much as they were at the end of World War I. Funny how history repeats itself so often.
