BREAKING: Cumbria (UK) Shooting: 12 dead up to 25 injured Confirmed: Suspect Dead

4 dead, apparently, and a number injured. Not something you expect in the Lake District. They have a very small police force but as they have told nearly the whole county to stay indoors, he should be found.

As we have his name and pictures of him he can't get far.

Following the off site incident this morning involving firearms, all Sellafield site gates will remain closed until we have been advised there is no longer an off site risk to our employees.

Morning shift personnel should remain at their posts or wait in a tea bar/canteen if not required on plant.

Afternoon shift have been advised not to attend site until Cumbria Constabulary have removed or reduced the off site risk and road blocks removed.

Personnel already approaching the Sellafield site can gain access through the main gate, where additional checks will be applied.

Please do not congregate around the site gates or perimeter fence.

Arrangements for leaving site will be communicated as soon as the off site situation clears.

Our current priority remains the welfare of our employees. Our current actions are not expected to impact on site operations.

*Cumbria Constabulary are advising people in the area of Whitehaven to Ravenglass to stay indoors.

* Sellafield Ltd employees can now listen to a recorded message which includes the latest communication by dialing 0845 055 1233 (the cost of calling this number is a low rate, but the cost of calls from mobiles may vary).

BBC saying the suspect is a taxi driver.

Also, interesting to note that they have said that the Sellafield nuclear plant is on a lockdown too. Surely they have their own security?

This is probably a "Dunblane"-style psy-op to allow TPTB to ban shotgun and rifles ownership in the UK.

Police not confirming numbers yet. Police spokesman just urged the suspect to give himself up lol.

BBC reporting at least 3 dead up to 11 injured.

they do UKAEA police, all armed. SOP is lock down for situations like this in case it's terrorism.

My guess so far is that the first shooting had a reason, since it seems that the first victim in whitehaven was a taxi driver, as is the suspect. The rest of the shootings may well just be people who got in his way.

I think if he was an ex-Sellafield employee then he's have gone there first, not Whitehaven.
