Quoting: Anonymous Coward 872433They always do. I'm pretty sure I surprised this guy, he didn't really have a chance. But I'm sure we would have had some "dialogue" if he hadn't been crushed so quickly. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 902980 India 06/05/2010 02:43 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I've been seeing a lot of bugs lately. I had seen a cricket and a larger beetle in my home this evening, and started thinking about their scorpion predators. Sure enough, I just saw a scorpion crawling across the floor. I often see scorpions after thinking about them (strange?). Out of instinct, I killed it, with the book I am reading. Quoting: aznedyAnyway, does anybody think that scorpion-killing is wrong? Based on my own observation, I'm pretty sure they are intelligent and sentient to a certain extent. But, they are creepy as fuck! Am I defending my home? Or, am I just a bigot to the Scorpio religion? you did good thing those scorpions don't have to be in your home. And they bite, cause lot of pain. It's not good. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 902980Thanks for that! I've never had one hurt me. The wife and I were actually talking about this tonight. We both want to get stung, so that we can see how bad it is or isn't. I think if I had been stung one of these times it would be a different story. Maybe we would have less compassion. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 951279 United States 06/05/2010 02:57 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | why not, instead of letting scorpions float into your mind and into your house, take control and make a deal with them. say outside ok, inside is a death sentence. then just assume all the ones inside are suicidal. lol i do that with spiders and it works, though i believe you have to brief the new crew each year. |

I have not been stung but people that have say it's more painful than a bee sting but not as bad as a jellyfish sting. I also heard somewhere that when they sting once there is no poison because they don't want to waste it. The poison is for true predators that persist after the first stings. |

In general, scorpions with slim and narrow pincers are equipped with more toxic venom. Powerful venom compensates for the scorpion’s weaker pincers and lack of brawny strength. This scorpion’s sting delivers extremely toxic venom that can cause extreme pain, convulsions, paralysis, and even death by heart or respiratory failure. The Death Stalker Scorpion is found in North Africa and the Middle East. |

I really don't have many problems with humans. I have considered myself a pacifist since age 10. I would embrace the scorp's nature, however, in the dualistic state that we live in, it's hard to tell friend from foe. I completely respect the scorpion race, and respect their right to exist. But, I have a problem with their nature. It seems that they don't have the same level of distinction that I do. They are always trying to sting anything they see as threatening. I try to not act out of violence unless I am being directly threatened. It seems like we are the same, and I cold potentially have some negative karmic force enacted because of my actions. I will try to act gracious from here on out, but if I see a scorpion taunting me w/ it's presence, I may be inclined to intervene. |

I will avoid camping and other exclusively outdoor activity in Palestine from now on. I don't want an encounter w/ these guys. I truly believe that scorpions are psychic entities. I have had vivid dreams involving scorpions, and their race has been a staple archetype since ancient times. This is the one of the reasons I'm asking about the karmic implications of killing one. |
